So I've noticed since the weather has became very hot here in MD (over 90 most days) my IAT is always over 100 degrees even with the Airaid cold air intake. Now it's no surprise our cars love cold air, my car performed much better in winter time. Is there anything we can do to keep temperatures lower then 100?

It's not like a CAI actually lowers the air temp. Sorry. It's usually 3-5 degrees above ambient outside temp on the highway and even more at lower speeds. So if the air is 90 degrees, sounds about right.

Is there a way to keep the temperatures as low as possible is what I'm asking or it is what it is?

The sensor gets heat soaked and gives an artificially high reading.

That's a good idea about the hood. So ecoswag how's things coming along with your car? Any new mods or track times lately?

Did you buy the chrome or ceramic BBK headers? I'm guessing the ceramic ones would drop temps by a few degrees.

I bought the chrome headers and I do feel as though they did add some heat under the hood.

Unfortunately that is the downside to chrome headers - they can add heat under the hood even versus the OEM ones.

Running full synthetic oil wouldn't hurt either.

I thought that could be the case as I noticed the driver side oem header had a heat shield over it and the new headers had none. But on the bright side they do look much better and did add some power. Overall it was worth it to me.

Mine is running around 128-135 with Temps in the low 90s without cai so if you're close to 100 you are probably seeing a pretty significant difference.
