They have to show you last year price and this year price on the renewal quote so difficult to hide.
There was a link in the email but I didn't open it. I suspect the price they're using is the over inflated renewal price from last year and not the haggled price I actually paid.

43 and 15+. My first year insurance on a new Mustang GT in 2016 was £640. The cars now worth less and I've got 9 years more no claims but the price is still 25% higher.

No, they have to use the price you paid last year.

Got a call last night on my way home from work... Howden (A-plan?) have come good at £680 incl. excess insurance, legal etc. so quite happy with that compared to the alternatives! Qudos to Adam who dealt with my inquiry and pulling the rabbit out the hat.

I hope so, it would definitely be a first. Admiral's renewal quotes are usually ridiculously more expensive.
Aye they definitely need chasing up before renewal date to get something decent re the renewal

Would it not be simpler just to look at it rather than guess?

Don't leave it too late. The best quotes come around 20 days from renewal.

Renewal quote is down from £827 to £694.

The cars parked off the road and the battery is disconnected, so if I SORN'd it I wasn't going to renew my insurance either - just realised this is the insurance thread not my SORN'd one.

You still need insurance even if SORNed. Fire and theft (plus falling trees, errant road users etc) still occur without VED!

Of course but I feel the risks are quite low. I live in a cul-de-sac with no through traffic, there's no trees and an 8ft hedge and a knee high wall protecting the side of the property. The roads only 1.5 cars wide and the property opposite doesn't have a driveway. I also have CCTV.

I actually disconnected the battery because every 4-5 weeks it would die and set the alarm off. I would then have to fight to get into the car with the physical key to pop the bonnet. The constant drain is also killing the battery. My last battery only lasted a year. The original battery, when I was driving the car, lasted 6 years.

Hello; Been working on buying a new 2024 Mustang GT. Stopped by my insurance office today. I have two vehicles and my house insured with them. The Mustang will an additional $647 every six months or $1294 a year. I am in my seventies with no accidents nor tickets in over 24 years.
I looked back a few pages of this thread and find most quotes listed are in pounds I think. My take is this quote is not out of line.

SORN it and then with the money you are saving with that keep the car insured. Best of bot worlds imho
