So while I've been working with cars for quite some time, this is my first jump into the turbo world. After doing a little bit of research I decided to grab a DV+ instead of going the BOV route.

It states that the DV+ allows it to open progressively to vent just enough pressure. When I watch my gauge it shows all Psi is lost if i let up even just a little bit on the gas pedal. Is this normal/how it's supposed to work?

Also, it seems as though from the PP gauge I'm really struggling for 20 psi. Looks much closer to 18~ at WOT. I have yet to see 20. Definitely seems to hold much stronger with the DV+ but seems I'm still low psi wise. Is this just a stock tune thing or am I missing something?

After the DV+, it definitely feels stronger or at least more responsive. 1st to 2nd shifts MUCH harder now, and gives a nice long chirp pretty easily.

Stock tune pushes around 18psi. It'll spike to 21-24 after you get a protune. Everything you describe is normal.

Thanks! I figured as much. It definitely made a big difference in throttle response. I actually noticed on the highway today that while it helps in 1-2 it really helps it pulls through while trying to pass. Motor just feels happier all in all.

I see 21psi peak on my stock auto.. I dunno about that 18psi.

Just on a side note...Boost is commanded by load isn't it? Just curious

Spykexx I don't know for certain but this seems partially true. I would guess that there is more involved though such as RPM and temperatures and such.

Yea pretty sure I read it's a calculation of load and RPM. I'd guess timing goes into it at some point, as your charge temps pull timing if they are too hot.

Hmmm. yea I'm pulling about 18 psi (stock and with DV+). But my 0-60 times are pretty atrocious. Very little wheel chirp in first in second, getting me about 7.9s-8.2s. Never had an issue pulling low 5's in my V6, but struggling like hell in the EB lol.

Temperatures, humidity and Elevation play a role in boost levels as well
agreed, I had the same concerns when I started dataloging too. Check your boost pressure in the morning (after up to operating temp of course) and in the afternoon. You will see less boost in colder temps (denser air) and more boost in warmer temps (less air density).
