Hi papinist,On the 2015-17 ecoboost there is no plug - you have to remove the radio to find the correct wires and install it.
I found that you can use a floppy disk power connector\wire from a pc, instead of buying that expensive stock wire from ford. It fits perfectly behind the gauges
My 2020 mustang premium with black accent pack had the gauge behind the touch screen. After you pull the screen out, you should find the connector behind the plastic “wall” that separates the screen from the rest of the inside of the dashHi Robonick,
Good stuff mate. Where did you get the wiring from the PP gauges to that dash harness, please.
John
i just acquired a used set of PP gauges as well as the entire dash cover, for my 2020 base GT installing Sunday hopefully all goes well
update 2018 Base GT are prewired cutting the dash was the biggest PIA
but it came out great
Hey man what do you mean prewired ?
Do uou have pics of items used?
I really want to get this done on mine. I have a 2020 gt premium.
prewired meaning its plug and play the wire is already there behind the radio
go to my IG jokerswild5o
used is fine i got my whole set up used including the Dash PanelOk man awesome. Looking at this one from ebay. Not sure why some are $200+ and others less than $60.
So had dealer flash PCM with stock tune. My tuner got 50HP with a custom tune and got the gauge working. Much happier than with th FP tune that only gave me 20HP increase. My Mechanic is Locked Out of PCM After Installing FP Tune.
My mechanic successfully installed the PP gauge cluster on my 2017 EcoBoost premium convertible per the instruction on this thread. His tuner set the “Oil Pressure Config” setting to “transducer.” The Oil Pressure Gauge started working. The tuner loaded the FP tune several months later. The Oil Pressure Gauge stopped working. But the FP tune is locking him out of the PCM and he can’t get to the “Oil Pressure Config” settings to reset it to “transducer” again. Does anyone have a workaround?
Talked to FP and they suggest that I, baseline the FP current tune on dyno, take the Mustang to dealer, get them to flash the PCM back to original settings, and get my mechanic to re-tune the PCM per the baseline, and then set the "Oil Pressure Config" setting to "transducer."
Does anyone have any ideas regarding simply getting past the FP lockout so that I can simply change the "Oil Pressure Config" setting and get the Oil Pressure Gauge working again without all the additional costs and hoops?
Hello John any luck with getting the gauges to workHi Cobra JET,
I have a non PP 2018 GT premium. I've bought the PP gauge set and dash panel. Can you tell me please where to get the rest of the hardware like the plug/wiring for the cluster, oil pressure sender and and is there also OP control solenoid? and adaptor piece in block. I’ve spoken to 2 ford spare parts dealers and they can’t help.
John
Hi Herman,Hello John any luck with getting the gauges to work
Cheers Herman also from Perth
Hello JohnHi Herman,
No, not yet. I'm having health issues slowing me down. I have not completed the RHD conversion yet. That is the hardest part I hope to get back to it again asap. I have a LHD PP dash piece and a spare RHD piece. I have 2 sets of gauges, oil p, vac came with LHD and new oil p, boost for supercharger. I need to find connectors from gauges to APIM plug. Not a 100% clear on what else I need until I get deeper into it.
P.S. I live near Byford.
Are you doing the same thing, if so how is yours going.
John
Hi Herman,Hello John
Yes i am 3/4 of the way through
I have dane the dash trim and wired to the APIM
Just need the tune and wire in the sensor and changed
the pin location on the pcm
I am in Wanneroo
