Hello everyone, so after hearing a new rotational sound in the car I jacked it up and checked the tires. Turns out the front tires are cupping on the inside. I’m trying to figure out what the most likely cause could be for it. I did run the pressure at 28 for a but the outside seems just fine. So I’m not sure if that’s the root cause even though the noise way after getting them back to their proper pressure. Could it be alignment, shocks, or some other suspension component. I should also mention that the passenger side has more wear and the car only has 35000 miles.

I have a post in this section-camber plates and in tire section about front tire wear that probably has info relating to yours. Jim

Have you checked to see if your wheel bearings are shot?

yes I lifted the car and checked for any wobble and it is super tight so I assume not that. From the other thread I think it’s an alignment issue but frankly haven’t had the time to check.

When I got my car and "heard" the bearing noise I knew what it was, and ordered both sides.

When I jacked up the car, I attempted to check deflection with a bar and got no movement. When I got the tire and rotor off, I could feel the issue.

It very well could be merely alignment, but usually a noise and tire wear is indicative of bearing, ball joint, or tie rod.... Tie rod, tension and radius rod failure could possibly cause it too, but I dont have any experience with that yet.

which is why I thought bearing but I’m now thinking the noise is from the cupping
It very well could be.... I typically take the approach that I expect whatever it is, its going to be the most inconvenient of my options lol

which is why I thought wheel bearing at first lol. I think I might pull the wheels off before getting an alignment and really check everything out. Hopefully I can report back sometime soon and let everyone know.
