^^^ Sounds like a very high end body shop. Please be sure to update us when she's all fixed up!
Will do, GT Pony. Here's a link to their website.

http://berlisbody.com/

They have quite a few reviews on Yelp and their Yelp average is 4 1/2 stars. It seems to be the best shop around these parts.

GEICO is OK, but be careful. They don't like to pay for paint blending. They like to cut off at panel joints, and that's not how "real" body guys like to do it. Make sure your body guy is excellent (NOT the "GEICO shop" if you can avoid it) and make sure he's in agreement with what GEICO wants to pay for.

This is based on my experience with my MKZ when it got backed into two weeks before my Mustang arrived last fall. The first time they painted it (that's not good, right?) it had a bad "seam" between old and new paint. I had to negotiate that with the body shop. We could not get GEICO to pay to do more. It was "fine" according to them. It was not fine, according to me or the body shop. Ultimately the shop did a blend onto the hood from the front (damaged) fended that improved it a lot, for free. They ate it, to do a good job. Nice work. It wasn't perfect, but we were matching 7-year-old paint and that's not as easy as current-model-year paint.

Good luck, but fair warning.

The Geico estimator wrote up the estimate to include blending the paint to the door and trunk lid.

Although I've had Ruby for 8 months, she's spent most of the time my garage at home or the parking garage at work. Plus, I've waxed her several times. So, hopefully her paint has faded very little and the paint match will therefore be very close to an exact match.

Stayed tuned to this little Mustang saga.

Here's my thought. I'm gonna use it as a bargaining chip. The body shop I'm using has a slighty larger per hour labor rate than the insurance companies normally pay. $50 bucks per hour, versus $46. If they'll readily accept and pay the higher per hour rate, I want pursue compensation for dimished value.

I'm not really giving up much, b/c I intend to keep Ruby for the rest of my life and pass it on to my nephew.

I have the same concern, Darren.

I'm going with a local body shop that is a certified shop for Bentley, Jaguar, BMW, Aston Martin, etc. I'm sure they'll get it right.

Problem is, they can't take Ruby until August 26th. It's like getting an appointment with a prominent medical specialist.
Berli's? Have had great work done by them in the past on BMW's. Takes a while, though.

So sorry to see your fine Stang hurting. I witnessed how beautiful your Ruby Red Steed looked a month ago at an Austin Mustang meet up. Out of a lineup, your car truly stood out and gleamed. Geico is pretty easy to work with. Luck have it...you'll have it back before your LSU Tigers hit the football gridiron...Geaux Tigers Ralph!

It was because of this thread that I switched to Geico from State Farm. :ninja:

Always changing

Had you bought the Focus, your life would be duller than it is now and you would be paying more for your insurance. It's true. But you fell in love with a Ruby Slippered Mustang with a sensuous red leather interior. You gave in to the Mustang Mystique and with that surrender you now drive with more swagger...read auto forums...create new audio realms for your enjoyment...and in short, you have a new Mustang "hobby". None of this would have occurred with your purchase of a Focus. ;)

Thanks, Carzzi. It's good to hear about a positive experience from someone who has used their services.

Thanks for the kind words about Ruby, Rough Hollow Man. She'll be looking her best again in a few weeks. And go Tigers! Should be a fun season to follow. I think Leornard F will be an even faster, stronger horse this year.

Berli's did the work on my Speed6 when somebody backed into it the first week I had it. They do top notch work.

Thanks, Tim. Another satisfied customer.

I'm feeling better about this whole thing. Especially that the damage to Ruby is only cosmetic and that Berli's will no doubt do a good job fixing her up.

Just an update. She goes to the shop Wednesday and they're telling me it could be 3 weeks or so. At least the culprit's insurance is paying for my rental. Wonder if Enterprise has any Shelby's in stock yet?
