imho they should just total it because it will never be right.

God thats heartbreaking.
That is nowhere near being totaled. In most cases this repair should come out fine.

That seems real cheap to me!!! My girlfriend got nipped in a parking lot. just a little scratch on her bumper and tiny dent on trunk lid. It was 1400.00 but I'm in Cali!!

That seems REDICULOUSLY cheap. I'm not sure that's an accurate estimate. I hope so but that's really really low for changing a quarter panel and painting a 4-stage paint.

Kinda wish they would too, Ultimate Warrior. But they are not going to deem it totaled for $1,500 worth of cosmetic damage.

I just glanced at the written estimate. Maybe I misread it. I left the document in the car when I got to work. I'm going to get it and make sure I read correctly; or not.

Either way, it'll be ok and they should fix you right up. Glad the ball is already moving to get your car fixed.

damn sorry to see that dude. But yea as others have said. Geico has some of the best customer service, so it shouldn't be too bad.

I made a mistake on the estimate. The $1,500 is just for parts -- i.e. the quarter panel and rear bumper. The total with labor is $3,900.

Doesn't take much to add up, gentlemen. Watch out for the clueless drivers out there.

Geico is treating me great, so far.

The Geico estimator said that b/c the car is no new and in obvious pristine condition, they're gonna replace the rear bumper too, rather than trying to have it repaired.

I was concerned about that b/c the body shop I stopped by yesterday said it looked like the rear bumper might be repairable. Nooo! Don't want it repaired. I want it replaced.

Now I just have to worry about the paint matching. Hopefully, this high end body shop that's going to do the repairs can make it happen.

Ford sells SO MUCH of their Ruby Red, I wouldn't worry about a great paint match.

I like that color so much, that I had my high-end speakers painted in it. But my car on order is triple yellow. (I don't want too much of a good thing.)

I was gonna say that $1500 is "no way" unless the work was at Maco and painted with a brush or something. $4000 sounds more realistic for a quarter panel and bumper replacement.

It's not an impossibility so I don't want to be guilty of scaring you. LOL. I just wanted to clue you in, and others with Ruby Red, that this color doesn't need to be attended to by just any Joe Smo. Stunningly beautiful but it can be a bear to get it to match like WE expect it to.

I have the same concern, Darren.

I'm going with a local body shop that is a certified shop for Bentley, Jaguar, BMW, Aston Martin, etc. I'm sure they'll get it right.

Problem is, they can't take Ruby until August 26th. It's like getting an appointment with a prominent medical specialist.

^^^ Sounds like a very high end body shop. Please be sure to update us when she's all fixed up!
