Can you send me a video when you get a chance? That's really weird. So far other testers have had no time issues that I've heard of with newest update.

Without using GPS what is the correct time for you now? What happens when you change the time in settings? Are you using eastern time zone?

In the videos, the correct time was 10:31 for the first video; 10:34 for second (AM, I have clock set to 24 hour clock)

When I change the time in settings, it displays the correct time until I restart the system.

I started with EST (both videos) then switched to Atlantic (because that was bullet-proof prior to update).

I tried a master reset to see if it changed/improved anything; all remains the same.

Wait so what is the issue you are having? The time looked correct. It won't stay correct when you turn it back on?

Oh are you talking about the half second or so before it goes to correct time? That is most likely the system waiting for sync to connect I believe. When connected to nav it waits for the nav to boot up to get the time.

The issue, in my opinion, is that it displays 2:00 for some finite, observable period of time, then switches to the correct time.

For me, this is worse than before the update because my unit did not exhibit this behavior before the update.

Don't you think it's odd for the time to be some random time (2:00) when the system powers up, then switch to the correct time?

It's clearly observable in the video....

Just went out again. Time zone is EST, no GPS time, get 2:00 for 1 second, then correct time.

So, it does keep the correct time, just that glitch where it shows 2:00 initially.

We'll send that over to the software team to look at.

Yup, that's it. As I said, the weird thing is it wasn't doing that before the update, on my unit.

I know it is normal for it to do that with using time from gps as it needs to look for the time from gps first which takes a few seconds to get it normally. Using new time option without gps it gets it from the sync module.
We will do more testing and see if there is any work around for it. I have the half a second or so change on our test units as well.

The GPS lag may be exaggerated for me because I have the GPS Auto setting to OFF (I don't want it running in the background, if I'm not using it).

Perhaps, with GPS Auto set to ON, it grabs the time quicker? I'll try changing the setting and see.

Otherwise, the GPS lag is completely unacceptable, IMO.

There is no need to use GPS for time with the unit storing it now though.

I'm not trying to be a dick, this is just what I would expect from any device.

OK, here’s a new twist. I just ran to grocery store, on trip to store, clocked appeared to function normally (i.e. - 2:00 for a second then switched to correct time); when leaving store, system clock said 15:01, I looked at cell and was 15:14. I reset system clock to 15:14 and drove home; system clock stayed at 15:14 for entire trip. When I got home, I checked cell and time was 15:22.

Has anyone else had trouble updating to the beta software? I've played with this all week and cannot get the upgrade to install with the instructions provided.
