Again front slot is not functional. Said it a lot of times but just clarifying again.
I'm sorry but it seemed that you use the front slot yourself as your picture shows, so we asked so many times why can't people use the front slot?

Hey bro! Are you gonna pull your dash apart to connect the USB dongle? If so, care to answer this front SD slot question for the gang?

When you pull the unit out, without disconnecting anything else, pop the SD card out (top left corner of the unit rear, watch XOAYHAMOX's video) and stick it in the front SD slot and see if you can load the NAV software.

Let us know if it runs. That seems like the most direct way to answer this question. Lots of people here will love you for it.

I have a question, is your software uploaded to an SD card that is connected to the unit? Or loaded directly to the unit?

Not tearing apart the dash until tomorrow, it's hotter than heck here right now and the garage is steaming, also a huge thunderstorm is in the area, I want to go in the pool and and I am kinda of tired after messing around in the yard all morning.

Tomorrow morning when I install my aux usb cable ( and hopefully get album artwork) and if I can get a straight answer if the front sd slot can be made functional or not I will try that as well.

One more question, instead of putting my thumb drive with music in the cars usb1 slot and having to go to the sync menu on the unit, now if I put the thumb drive in the aux usb cable will my music now show up in the audio menu section of the unit, if it does, that makes more sense, bigger area for displaying artwork and the unit defaults to that screen, so it makes sense.

Dude, I totally understand, I'm in PA and I was sweating my balls off yesterday, working on the car. Must be like a furnace there (actually, more like a sauna)....

I plugged my thumb drive into the USB dongle this morning, on the way to the dealer, and yes, that is exactly where the music shows up, in Audio.

thet33 I think you solved the voices in my head, or at least the ones in the Nav unit.

The GPS voice volume was set at '1', I turned it up so I could hear what she was saying, turns out the default is for her to alert me that I'm speeding when I am at 100% of the speed limit; so, in a 35 MPH zone, when I hit 35, she tells me I'm speeding.

You mentioned you shut all that stuff off, you can still hear verbal directions when nav is on, right?

Ok so I spent hours to get the text notifications working and I found out two things first when ford updated sync they removed the map screen so there is no missing menu from the moddiction unit. And second after spending lots of time on the phone with ford I finally called apple and the text notification issue is an iPhone issue with IOS 9.3.2 and there is. Nothing that will fix it until ford or apple update.
