I tried it and some of my files (from iTunes) had the artwork while others did not. I'll screw around with it at some point, try to figure out why.

TBH, what's more important to me is trying to get playlists to work through that USB dongle. The ones I created (using a windows based program to create .m3u files that Sync would recognize) work fine through Sync but don't even appear when I put the same drive on that USB dongle.
Cool man! mind sharing the program you used? Thanks for the replies

Sure, program is called Playlist Creator, it's a free download. Only recognizes mp3, of course (no m4p). You put your mp3 on a flash drive and fire up the program, you can drag and drop the files onto the program's window and, when done, save the m3u file on your flash drive. easy-peasy. :headbang:

Because Sync is a MS product, if you used windows default media player to manage music/create playlists, they would work on Sync as well. Since I'm an Apple guy, I need to do the work-around with Playlist Creator on my wife's windows machine.

Now that I got art showing via the aux usb cable and mp3's on a thumb drive I have noticed that on the audio menu I can only access one folder at a time, am I missing something? I presume if I put all the files just on the drive with no folders I would then have access to all the tunes at once but then again I like being able to scan to a specific genre folder and hitting play, we should be able to do both.

Also creating a playlist would be a slick way around the problem, I use j.river media center for all my media needs, will look into it later, also does mp3's playing via the aux usb cable can they be controlled via voice sync?

The questions never end, lol. :D

Yeah, I looked for an OS X based approach, but didn't find one. If you happen to come across one, let me know.

Yeah, I think a USB drive with a couple thousand mp3s would be a little messy to manage. Mine is set up with folders for artist, and sub-folders for each album. I noticed the audio screen lets you drill down through the folder structure, just like looking for the Primo.exe file.

I guess a quick/dirty fix would be a playlist folder with the mp3s in it and call it whatever (e.g. - Driving Music, etc.) but, if you wanted a song in more than 1 playlist, you'd have to duplicate it which is messy and takes up extra space.

There should be a way for it to recognize some kind of playlist structure....

favio20 iTunes has an export playlist feature that creates a .m3u file.

File > Library > Export Playlist

However, if I recall correctly, if you open with text edit, there's a lot of extra stuff in there that the Sync module doesn't know what to do with. There was something online that walked through how to edit the list, LINE BY LINE, but was a total PITA.

This might have been discussed already, but does this keep the back up camera and Sensor function ?

Back-up camera works well, although I couldn't find the option to have it stay on for a few seconds after switching out of reverse, like we can in Sync.

Don't have any sensors, so I can't answer that one.

Understandable. But the Ford voice recognition did work for me making calls today with no problem. Haven't figured out how to get music commands to work though. Maybe it's just not a function it has. Haven't tried text yet.
Yea, The Ford Voice software work but not the Siri. Just like on the video I posted. For the ford you just press the talk button. For the siri its a long press on the talk button. The siri voice controls are way better and more versatile.

I think the camera delay option is on your instrument panel screen that you navigate with the steering wheel buttons.

I'll check it out, thanks! I just activated it a day or 2 before switching to the new unit; was trying to decide whether or not I liked it.

Sorry, I might've been mistaken. I didn't find it in those settings.
