Well thanks for all the replies. You Mustang guys are more enthusiastic than even the F-150 gang! You posted some nice pics (the red with the black-out grill looks great) and lots of witty responses. I don't have any mods planned right away - I have been driving VW's and a Super Duty for years and it will be awhile before I can get anywhere near the limits of this machine. It kind of reminds me of a CR250 motocrosser - you open it up and in about 5 seconds you're going WAY too fast. The only thing in my wildest dreams is a red (same as the seats) double stripe from front to back right over the top... extreme, yes, but the body shop didn't want to put one on my Super Duty until I at least replaced the stock XL-trim steel rims with mags ha ha...

2010 I got my first mustang at age 22. It is a 1965 that my dad bought for me as a graduation pressent. It has a salvage tittle but it had already been fixed. Once I had a job I got married, then came the house and the 2nd vehicle (vw golf TDI). 2 years ago I sent the mustang to a shop for restoration and the mechanic got raned over by a crazy lady driving on the sidewalk  so there was no progress for about a year and a half. The guy is working on the car again and should be done in about 3/4 months... Just in time for when my 2016 comes in... So it is like getting 2 mustangs this year!! :D Oh and I am spending about 5.5K on the restoration.

^ How are you going to bring both Mustangs to meet ups? We all will want to see both! You should be really excited...I wish I still had my '66 Fastback.

I finally got a Mustang! I spent a lot more than I intended to, but the GT's around here were disappearing fast, and I had to make my move for a Shaker and a 3.55 axle. The black + red seats set the hook, and after the usual several hours of paperwork, The Shark and I were on our way home, and for some reason it was a 75 mile drive back, instead of the usual 15 miles. Hmmm. Well, it's nice to meet you folks!

Thanks,
Paul
Congratulations, Paul, and I sure do hear you on the "finally" part. I drove a friend's Mustang a few times at about age 20, but it took me another 40 to put my own Mustang in the driveway. Wonder what a couple years from now is going to bring . . .

I'm 53 and the people at new job ask me if I am going thru mid life crisis (or something)

I tell them I raced Club Level Superbike, USCF category 1, and endless track days over the last few decades.

so no... it's not midlife crisis.

Lowering Medicare costs!

This is how you can lower Medicare costs nationwide...have everyone get a Mustang...really folks, how can you feel bad when the new Mustang makes everyone feel so damned good. Mustang exhiliration is "good for what ails you". "If laughter is the best medicine", which one of you Mustangers aren't laughing at the end of a WOT run.:headbang::eyebulge: Yep, Mustangs after going on Medicare can help one stay young! Or at least "Young at Heart"

I just tell 'em all (including my wife) that I never grew up... I'm a Toy 'R' Us kid. So I'm told, I'm in my 60's, and I haven't had a mid-life crisis. And don't plan too!

Word spread at work I ordered a new one, and the most common response was, "You're crazy." I stole a line from a Joe Walsh tune as my standard answer, "but I have a good time." :D Life HAS been good to me so far!

Martin... welcome to the "Coral"! Congratulations... better a little late than not at all.

That is all...

When I grow up to be a man, will my kids be proud of me or think their old man is a square. They love it that I have a mustang and want me to get some higher Mphs

Let me see, my cars worth noting, (many more not worth Mentioning)
1988 Lotus Esprit
1988 BMW 318
1989 BMW 732
1992 Nissan Skyline R32
1993 Nissan Skyline R33
1994 Nissan Skyline R33
1993 Toyota Supra
1994 Toyota Supra
2001 Lexus IS200

The Mustang is my first American Car and I'm 38 years old, and it makes me proud to wave the Flag here in Germany
My 1993 Supra kicked the bucket in march 2014 after 21 years and 280,000 miles of service and wasn't worth repairing at that point as I own a second one.
Here's hoping I will be driving my 2015 in 2036

Wow, that must be an unusual car to see in Germany, but the Ford guys are saying they will be marketing the Mustang worldwide, especially with the EcoBoost (awesome engine).
