I'd give it until 2030 before ev makes sense for the average Joe. The progress already in the last few years is pretty wild. They will always have their limitations of course, but they just have to get to a point where most people won't notice them.I'm not sure the numbers actually support that, tbh. Sales continue rising on an annual basis and carmakers are continuing to work on ways to generate economies of scale that will ultimately bring prices down while allowing for them to be profitable. EVs are still very much in the early adopter stage (maybe just entering the early majority stage). They'll likely continue to improve. With an average daily commute of about 42 miles in the US, there's plenty of reason to believe they'll ultimately be something for the masses. Just takes time.
A performance model will. The performance capabilities of the non-performance teslas are greatly exaggerated. They will beat a STOCK stang everytime, BUT supercharged stangs are a diff ballgame. When i had my roush stage 3 car, id beat them everytime w 750hp.. Now the TESLA PLAID is diff.. they will smoke any blown mustang, except cars in the 1000HP+ range.
well, as time passes so does there tech and power. Back in 2021, 22 i was smashing them, Lost to a PLAID.. But nothing ever after that.A performance model will. The performance capabilities of the non-performance teslas are greatly exaggerated.
The problem is that it's hard to tell what you're even dealing with since they all look the same, lol.A performance model will. The performance capabilities of the non-performance teslas are greatly exaggerated.
Tesla publishes the most optimistic quarter mile data ever. They advertised my dad’s model S as 11.6 second quarter. That car has never, ever run quicker than 12.4. The cars are not that fast. My mom’s 2023 dual motor model 3 is also pretty slow.well, as time passes so does there tech and power. Back in 2021, 22 i was smashing them, Lost to a PLAID.. But nothing ever after that.
Now im in a 2023 MACH 1, cant mess with any of them anymore lol Sold my Roush stage 3 car...Tesla publishes the most optimistic quarter mile data ever. now the newer performance versions f’ing fly. Don’t mess with those without boost.
Honestly, the testing and research being done right now to eliminate those limitations is awesome. I'm excited to see if it all works out. There are tests being done throughout the country for wireless charging on highways while driving. It's all in the very early stages and will take a while to perfect (assuming it works - and with all the smart people out there, I'm sure they'll find a way), but that will be a game changer in the EV space whenever that happens.I'd give it until 2030 before ev makes sense for the average Joe. Don't be dense......"the Tesla pulled along side, hung there and would gun it,"
How do you gun an electric engine?
Side issue, my wife and I took a road trip in the Bullitt last week, had to wait 30 minutes to get my car out of the valet garage (no choice) because only ONE of the drivers could drive manual............Especially if you drive a manual, they'll uber home at that rate
lol, I’m well aware of what my car is capable of. Thanks for the encouraging words champ.Don't be scared little fella, just give it your best and you'll gap a Tesla too...
