Chevy seems to always be willing to do a fat discount on their higher priced cars.

But damn, sweet car. I'd love to have one if I could afford it.
Yeah they had a 16 they would knock $7k off of new and give 0% on, but it was yellow and a non Z51. They would have probably knocked $10k off, my sales guy said it has been on the lot for 305 days.

How's it compare to the GT in performance?
It's quicker, lighter, less body roll, no wheel hop. It's a night and day difference. I had a 6sp manual GT and even after putting about $1500 in the suspension, this car stock outperforms it hands down.

After driving both, would you ever go back to a GT?
Thats a beautiful vette man!!
Thank you!! No, I wouldn't go back. But new, you could nearly buy 2 GTs for how mine was optioned. I didnt buy it new, but if I had, it would have been nearly $80k with all the options it has. But like stated above, Chevy always has a discount on them, you'd be crazy to pay MSRP.

Pony cars and Corvettes really aren't comparable vehicles in my opinion. One is a budget V8 and one is a semi-exotic. The price difference alone should get you a faster, better handling car. That's like saying, "I went from a Ford Ranger to a Sierra Denali and the difference is night and day. The Denali pulls my horse trailer with ease, and is far more comfortable under heavy load than the Ranger ever was." Well yea, I should hope so! Keep it in perspective. ;)

That said, nice car!

Chevy has done a good job with the Vette for some time now. Nice car. Congrats. Enjoy it. Love the interior.

Nice car! I love the black and red. Mine was black/black.

Hope you got a good deal. The big guys are selling new 16's for 20% off. A lot of 16's on lots with 17's in. I expect prices on the Stingray will continue to fall as I think people will gravitate towards the GS.

Best of luck and welcome to the club:cheers:

Having had a C7 Z51 w/o MRC, a 16 GT Premium and now a 17 GT350 I can confidently say the GT350 outperforms the stock C7 Z51 in my opinion. I'm sure MRC on the C7 would help a lot but the GT350 corners better IMHO.

The LT1 is a great engine but DI has been an issue and it feels slightly under powered. Now, after a S/C, Meth, headers and a tune, the C7 would CRUSH the GT350 in a straight line But I find the GT350 more fun to drive than my C7. To each his own but I think I made the right move for me.

Can't go wrong with a C7 though but I still don't like the comparison between a sports car and a pony car.

To stay with the blue oval. I wanted a GT350, even offered on a 13 GT500. But then I figured I would stop at a local dealership yesterday to take a look at a 07 Z06. It was amazing but just a little too modded for my liking on a car that old and the price was a little high.

Dealer sales guy mentioned they had a used Stingray though that I could drive. He literally told me "we can test drive every Vette on the lot if you want". Well the Vette ended up having red competition leather seats and I was automatically hooked. I threw them a lowball offer, and they freaking accepted!! I told myself after I sold my GT that I wouldn't buy anything for at least a year. A little over a month later I'm a proud owner of a Z51 3LT!
Congratulations on the Corvette!! I am a sucker for red, leather interior and your looks amazing.

Enjoy your beautiful car:thumbsup:

This is the only GM product I would own besides a previous generation CTS-V.

I think I stated that pretty well in a different thread. I was asked how they compared and like you said, they don't.

What year is the car?
It's a 2014

I don't think I'll have any problem keeping up with a 350 in a straight line as it is. I wanted a 350, but now that I have the C7, the interior alone makes me happy I went with the Vette. Although I'm sure in 2-3 years I'll have something different. I may track it a few times but the majority of its use will be weekend getaways through the mountains, so its more than enough car for me.
