IMO, I will love this tech when it is developed and mature, and when all the vehicles on the roads and the infrastructure are set up to communicate together. Until then, it should be banned. It is making drivers of many makes (not just Tesla) lazy, inattentive and (more) incompetent.

There should be a requirement that the car can tell if you are asleep before any car with a system like that is allowed to be on road. Both the driver and people at Tesla should be charged with a crime such as reckless endangerment for this.

When cruise control first became available there was an accident where someone walked to the back of their van in California while operating down the freeway.

They thought if vehicle was on cruise that they didn't need to drive.

The one in the new X7 has a camera that watches the driver to see if they are not paying attention. Looks like a good solution.
