Before I retired I owned my owen tire shop here in MN. I did all the tire changes and balanceing I only had one set of tires that could not be balanced. (Mickey Thompsons). The guy bought them from tire rack and brought them to me for mounting and balance. I balance all tires to zero. This is the only set that got worse the more I tried. I even did just the rims and they all balanced with just 5 grams each. I wrote a letter to tire rack and they refunded the money and paid him for for the time I charged. I bought him a new set of the same exact tire from my supplier and the job went well. And cheaper than tire rack. They went on a fox body mustang.

The name of my company was "Broken spokes Tire Service." I did cars, trucks, motorcycles, and being out here in farm country every rig the farmer's had. It was a one man shop. I retired in 2018 and I am still getting calls and having people stop by to try to get me to start back up. I have mustang's to drive, motorcycle's to ride, and gun's to shoot. I am done working! It is time to PLAY!

Avoid EV rated tires at all costs they are designed to handle 6000-9009 lb cars so poor ride on 4K lb cars.

I love Michelins but my credit card does not. I have Conti ECS right now and they are just as good but a bit easier on the wallet.

If I buy them it's usually through Discount Tire warehouse or whatever it's called on eBay.
I love my ECS. I get all my tires from Discount Tire. The local store will price match if someone is cheaper

I would buy whatever has the thickest tread. I bought the Exhilarate Goodyear's because they have 500 ware tread. I've had them for nearly 20k miles and only went through 1/10 so far.

just make sure you keep those straight and don't jumble them. :)

without totally derailing the thread, do you have a list of bikes?

But back on topic, what tire-change equipment/model did you use?

All of the tires being discussed are 10/32. The Conti & Michelin are rated 560 & 540. The Bridgestone and Goodye are rated at 500.

I think I decided on the Conti's unless this other deal I'm working on pans out.

I'll start with the list of bikes. 2003 Heritage bored and stroked 135 HP 145 ft lb torque 1690cc bought new, 2000 Heritage 82 HP shaved and flowed heads and a holley two barrel carb. 1550cc bought new, 1999 Night Train 1340 evo bought used, 1983 FLTC Shovel Head 1340cc bought used, 1981 FLTC Shovel Head 1340cc bought used, 1974 1000CC Sportster right hand shift and my first Harley, bought new and I still have it. Rebuilt 5 years ago. Tire changer and Balancer were bought as a combo package new in 2008 from American Industries out of Texas. I don't believe they are in business anymore. The changer can do up a 28" wheel and two assist arms. The only one I found with that range. Computer balancer that has been reliable and has served me well. I have done thousnds of tires on this equiptment.

I always tell folks how fast I went through my PS4's on the front. In less than 15k miles I was going flat. Then the rears held up for 45k miles before I replaced them. Odd how much more ware the PP1 fronts have. But the Goodyear Exhilarates I bought have held up pretty well.

All the weight is on the front of the car. Good year use a much harder rubber compound than other Mfg. What I have noticed about GY is that with 60% life left they don't have any traction. Not a fan.

You are talking about utqg rating and it is not a relieable number to gage tires by. It's done by the tire MFG. and they each use there own interanl testing, there is no standard to go by. The USDOT. does not condut these tests. The NHTSA does verifie the accuracy of the tests. But the MFG. each use there own standards. So you still can't compare the numbers between companies.
