Yes but the rubber and petchem used to produce final rubber is imported as is the steel belts.... since we don't have runner trees and have limited petchem range and production most aimed at high value add.That's not true the US does produce rubber for tires that are produced here. There are also foreign tire Mfgs in the US that also use US produced rubber. They also use synthetic rubber and or a blend of both.
This shop knew the proper torque spec for the lugs and I watched them put the wrench on the bolts.years ago I had a shop not tighten the lug nuts on any of the rims.
All raw materials in the plant are blended together at the rubber compounding plant then shipped to tire production plant that's buying it's steel belts off shore .... fact is majority >50 content is imported besides China has hand on 80% global rubber raw materials no avoiding foreign content since we offshored everything 30 years ago.With US rubber.
