I'd consider with a manual and a different exhaust configuration - what's is that!?

I have owned several Lexus V8 models and found that they "under perform" the competition. I won't buy another one.

It's a great effort they've made and it will not be as expensive as a 2022 IS-F would be at roughly $64k, which is what some folks continue to miss.

This will be in the $50s for certain and I hear $56k. It ends production in 2023, when the IS gets replaced. Basically a 2 year swan song run.

A lot of folks forget that Toyota holds back on power output, for reliability reasons. Coyote isn't unreliable, but compared to Toyota's UR block, it isn't a comparison.

Not to mention build quality and F&F, even if I probably have the best built pre-2018 S550 (mine was built at the end of 2017 production circa September 29, 2017). I was lucky.

...BUT it's also ugly.
I like the styling of the current IS lineup. The F Sport grille took a while for me to warm up to but I honestly really like it now.

I almost got a used current gen IS350 a while back but
  1. I hated the way Lexus implemented their lumbar support. It came in at an angle and left your back slanted.
  2. Lexus's infotainment is literally absolute trash. The resolution was garbage, the knob/touchpad thing they have are also clunky, and it was just so unpleasant to be around for me. Android Auto/Apple Carplay also weren't available sadly.
I think the IS 500 F Sport will be a sweet car to pickup in 5 or so years though. The mustang platform was built with being a rental car in mind and it honestly shows

You are absolutely correct. Every rental car I’ve driven looks fantastic and can easily be boosted to 600whp with no upgrades to the motor so long as it’s a v8.

Almost all of Ford's products are designed to be rental/fleet vehicles as well. It's definitely no luxury car with all of the creaks that come with it and the garbage paper cone speakers.

Also, this isn't necessarily directed at you but it is possible to like something and still have some critiques about it.

Recently there was a S550 Hertz on eBay; seller was trying to get $75k for it. Don’t know if it actually sold or not (since a lot of eBay vehicles just get relished or owner just pulls the listing after generating attention).
