This is the 3rd or 4th 02 sensor I've had to buy in 3 or 4 months. This time it says P2243. 02 sensor reference voltage circuit/ open bank 1 sensor 1. The last time it said p2251 negative current control/open bank 1 sensor 1. I just replaced the extension harness. I have longtubes on my car without cats. Recently just started having this problem. What can it be? Should I replace thr harness again?? I don't know what else to do. I replaced the extension harness and the 02 sensor... what else could it be? Thanks

What fuel are you running and header brand? The bung location and angle of the O2 can play a roll in premature failure.

I’ve heard that the extension harnesses aren’t reliable because the plug housings are aftermarket and reverse-engineered, not oem quality. I also heard you can get f-150 o2 sensors that have longer pigtails and wouldn’t require the extension.

Also my check engine light doesn't come on. The only reason I noticed something was wrong because my air fuel ratio gauge on my dash was stuck on 14.1 . Air fuel ratio Doesn't move when at idle or when I give it gas.

If the code is open circuit it's not a bad o2, you have a short somewhere. Check all wiring related to the o2's, follow them and check under the wire loom where they are close to the headers you have melted wires somewhere

This. Were the old O2s hard to remove? On the old Dodge trucks, the O2 short code was a common code on vehicles people tried to use heat or chemicals to get the O2s to budge. 9 times out of 10 there is actually a short somewhere.

I replaced the extension harness a month or two ago smh.. I checked the harness. Everything looks good. Everything is tight. Car still idles and runs fine. Is there a extension harness you guys recommend? Maybe I got a bad one? I thought I would be able to swap the driverside extension harness to the passenger side but the driverside extension harness is way to short

This motor also has low compression in cylinders 6 and 8. Can that have anything to do with my 02 sensors failing?

On my 02 lightning I had long tubes and everything appeared to be fine but when I cut off the wire loom tech flex that was on the extension harness there were wires that were crispy from getting to close to the headers while driving. Replaced harness and bought heat shielding wrap and zip tied wires so that would never happen again. An open circuit is a plug that's disconnected or there are wires grounding to the car or to each other. Check again

I had a similar issue with my 2015 gt. I had a steeda tune for a while, then switched to Lund when I added a GT350 mani. I started going through 02s left and right. Only on 93 too. I eliminated the extensions and still had issues. Swapped to ntk 02s and it lasted a few months and I traded the car in.
