That's like all the Corvette owners who died when they did not know how to open the electric doors if power is cut. If you drive a vehicle with "unusual" procedures, it pays to learn them and explain to passengers. I don't recall where the manual release is for the Corvettes but for the Tesla Model Y, that story describes how they could have opened the door IF the owner knew and explained it. Older Model 3s are worse, without any factory manual release for rear doors. May not be a good choice for families with children. I say may only because the crash survival rate is so great for that model, and that power loss to doors is so rare, you are safer than in most cars with manual doors. One of my infrequent rear passengers pointed that out to me when I tried to use the no manual latch excuse to get them to drive.

in this case he said he watched the video but never said he LISTENED to the video.
Hello; True up to a point. I used the CC (closed caption) function so read the vocalization.

They even threw a radiator/condenser part on the Ford table but failed to show the equivalent Tesla parts.
Hello; The above is what I wrote to be more exact. A fact is the video claimed the Tesla has a heat pump so should have a condenser somewhere.
I suggest you relisten or perhaps use CC around the part about the Ford battery. My take was they commented such had nothing to do with the comparison. May be a chance to find fault with me again as i did my post on the fly and was not as careful as i would have been preparing for a classroom presentation.

I get it. You paid big bucks for an EV and have the guts to post about it on a muscle car forum. Then some of us tear into your choice so you get riled up. Fair enough. I do not doubt your claim that the tesla is the better EV. Musk & Tesla built the car on purpose and from scratch.
Ford bowed to extreme pressure and had to get into the EV game like it or no. No surprise they fitted parts and technology they were use to working with. My hope is Ford and other legacy companies to not go belly up because of these forced agendas.

Hello; This statement is fair enough. I tried out a Corvette and di ask about getting out if the battery failed.

Hello; Here we go. A very useful bit of information. Something I would not have thought of on my own.
Older Model 3s are worse, without any factory manual release for rear doors. May not be a good choice for families with children.
Hello; So, the Tesla you have is a Model 3 and is the basis for glowing comments you have posted.
I say may only because the crash survival rate is so great for that model, and that power loss to doors is so rare, you are safer than in most cars with manual doors.
Hello; interesting take.

This is horrible. Maybe place a few those window breaking tools inside every Tesla.
Absolutely terrible. I know I joke about BBQ mode and self destruct but this stuff should never happen.

Hello; I wonder how such a system got past the safety watchdogs?

Reading this thread you’d think that driving down the road every day I’d see teslas engulfed in flames all over. I’ve yet to see 1 on fire.

I’d imagine that it seems like it happens constantly but in reality the headlines get clicks so you just see it everywhere.

LoL. You claim to watch the video, claim to read the CCs. You seem to have read my brief attempt to help you but still pretend (?) the video does not show the Tesla condenser. I'll just assume you simply reject the very concept that the same function can be done with drastically different looking parts.

THE TESLA CONDEBSOR IS THE TINY BOX SHOWN AND DESCRIBED. IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE OR TAKE UP ANYWHERE NEAR AS MUCH SPACE BECAUSE IT IS LIQUID COOLED.

You simply could not see any fins because you don't have x-ray vision.

Hello; OK I'll play for a while. Fair enough about the liquid cooled condenser. A thing is somehow that liquid must be cooled itself. Maybe in a regular sort of radiator mounted somewhere else. Maybe that cooling liquid releases the heat in some other way. I have already admitted i have yet to work on a Tesla so do not know how the systems work exactly.
I have worked on AC systems and do have an understanding, to a degree, of heat pumps. I get why a heat pump is best in an EV so the interior can be heated in winter or cooled in summer. The heat pumps I am familiar with do have an air interface somewhere. I strongly suspect there is some sort of radiator to air exchange on a Tesla somewhere. Just thinking if such is the case the radiator or whatever cools the liquid ought to be part of the display. Maybe part of the same system which cools the battery packs??? Educate us.

Hello; I have never seen an airplane crash in my 77 years but do believe they do such a thing.

Thanks for that insight. Can you show me where I said it doesn’t happen?

The point is that the entire thing is sensationalized by the media and people who hate the idea of EVs. Does it happen? Yep. But do other manufacturers make cars that have killed people due to defects? Yep.

I fully believe people dislike EVs because they are superior in some ways and humans tend to be insecure and closed minded. 🍿 🍿 🍿

Hello; Interesting comeback. No, you wisely did not say no folks have been trapped in a Tesla while it burned. We do have the link. What you attempted to do is down play the incident by claiming rarity. Got a feeling the story would have been "sensational new" even if everyone loved EV's. But have it your way on that.

The bit about EV's being superior got a chuckle from me. The insulting putdown did not. Reminded me of the Covid 19 posts of just a few years ago. A thing is many of us who were put down and insulted because we rejected Covid dogma turned out to have been correct. Fancy that. So, this EV discussion has devolved into that sort of thing.
If we post about the tragedy of four people burned to death while trapped in a Tesla must be because we are closed minded.

Another way to take you EV's are superior comment is that you mean they are superior to us humans. well perhaps excluding you of course. Not a novel idea. Several Sci-Fi stories have had such a theme. Along the lines we biological intelligences are steppingstones playing a part in a form of evolution leading to a non-biological race of intelligent creatures.

Here is a thing about my closed mindedness regarding EV's. If they were many times less expensive, I would seriously consider having one already. The lion's share of my driving is under 50 mile round trips. Many under 20 miles. Afraid I do see an EV as a motorized appliance or a fancy golf cart.

I didn’t state that EVs are superior to humans. I believe EVs to be superior to other modes of transportation in some ways.

Also I never stated that you were closed minded or insecure. In my experience however, many people are closed minded regarding this topic. And on forums such as this, people seem to really dislike the idea of a EV family sedan rolling off the showroom floor running mid 9s and hurting their muscle car feelings. This would elude to insecurity.

Also, I never down played the impacts of 4 people burning inside a Tesla. Loss of life is tragic. However, loss of life is not exclusive to EVs. Nor is it common regardless of what some people say. No, rarity doesn’t make it okay, but people die in every single mode of transportation. We live in an imperfect world.

Hello; my posts can be long winded. I have found it to be difficult to get ideas and meaning across in the written form. No facial or voice cues as when speaking face to face. May i suggest becoming a bit more long winded yourself. Might keep us from filling in the voids the wrong way. But your call.
