Many many years ago I worked in a garage that did a lot of upgrades for hot cars. I watched the head mechanic cut open oil filters and saw the metal fillings in the filter. So after reading the above, for my first service I'll stick with my 1,000 mile rule. After that I'll stick with the Ford recommended milage.
^^^ Good plan  ^^^ I should be cutting wood today, but it's really cold out and may go hide in my shop to change the oil/filter on the Bullitt.

I'm going to do the first oil/filter service at 1,000 miles (currently at 800). More than the oil, I want to cut open the filter and carefully examine the residue. This is common in aviation; I cut open the filter on my airplanes every 25 flight hours... and more than once have been surprised at the amount of metal (ferrous and non-ferrous) in the filter after a new/rebuilt engine. I'll use Pennzoil 5w20 full synthetic. I've already drained the trans oil, and replaced it with BG Synchro Shift II. I may change the rear axle oil at 1,000 miles too, but am still looking into what makes the Torsen happy. The nearest dealer is 80 miles distant, but I have a lift in my shop :-)

GA: an old hot rod B56TC Baron, Husky A1C and my go-to bird, a LongEZ. I'm CMEL and A&P. Aviation has always been fun for me, not a vocation. The Baron is expensive to fly and maintain, so it may be replaced with something more modern and with glass.

I’ve flown a 56TC Baron. Duke engines/props, 3200 rpms on takeoff! And LOUD! What a great airplane.

I had about 8,000 hrs of GA time, the rest Part 121. I flew almost all Pipers and Cessnas, and the Beech Bonanzas, Barons, TravelAir, Sundowner, Skipper, and even a Debbie.

At the airline, I flew the B727, B737, B757, B767, and the DC-10. My favorite was the 757.

What looks good to you (more modern with glass)?

Nice lift, had one in CO, 4 poster, vette on top and 34 ford on the bottom. No room here in NC for a lift, just barely got the Bullitt in with my wife's RDX on the other side.
Had a great ride today but passed a trooper and slowed down a bit. I figured if I got pulled over I would plead that my wife just bought me this for my 68th BD! Stay warm.

Same age as you (68); my days laying on the floor working on cars and toys are thankfully over. I should have bought a lift 10 years ago when my knees and back still worked okay. Obviously it's a heated shop, no A/C required in the summer :-)
