I would check to make sure all the under belly pan and front wheel lines are mounted solidly and not missing any fasteners.

Doesn't that car pipe in artificial "engine" sounds into the cabin via a computer. Perhaps it's messed up.

I had a rental V6 convertible and it would hum at certain speeds. I don't remember exactly when but I believe it started around 40 and goes away around 70.

I assumed it was the front tires probably making the noise.

That's exactly what's happening but without the vibration and yes I deff will be making sure a tech comes along for the ride . He should be able to hear the noise right away as it happens as soon as I hit 65mph and it's quite noticeable , car only has 200 miles on it , I noticed the sound the day after taking deliver of the vehicle
Any conclusion on the hum @ 65mph? I am getting the same hum, very quiet, but I can certainly hear it with all the HVAC and controls off. No driveline vibration at all. Happens in any gear, 4th, 5th or 6th and neutral. Strange. Goes away if its 1 miles less or more than 65.

I haven't been able to have it checked out by service , of course when I went there they couldn't take me without an appointment, but I did bring the sales person along for a ride who sold me the car and indeed he heard the hum noise as well. We then took another identical 16 mustang out for a test drive , with the same wheels and tires and strangely it made the same humming noise at 65mph , which leads me to believe the noise could be possibly coming from the tires. I have the all season 19inch Pirelli p zero Nero tires . That's really my best guess as of now . The noise is still present in my car and I'm at 700 miles now , kinda annoying too once you hit 65mph.

What tires do you have on your mustang ?

I have the all season Pirelli P Zero 255/40ZR19 on 50th AP wheels.

Here's a picture I took.

Kinda funny those are the same tires that I have on my car , and the same tires that were on the car that I test drove and all made the same hum noise . I'm wondering if it could be the tires .

I don't know about that, tires dont "hum" but they can make noise.

Another thread mentioned it could be panel alignment that makes the hum, and suggested to lower the hood adjustment knobs. I will try this once it stops snowing. (In April, lol)

Cheers,

Cheers,
I have a 16 model and I'm pretty sure my hood alignment is pretty good although I'll double check , so I doubt that's the problem for me . But please keep me informed with the adjustments if that's the problem in your case .

I've got the same all season Pirelli P Zero 255/40ZR19 on the optional 19" wheels. I don't hear any humming sounds at any speed. I don't think these tires make much noise, but it could be dependent on road surface too.

Go find a pretty new stretch of smooth black top to get the best reading on tire noise.

Noise happens on any road surface rough , smooth, dry or wet . For my first oil change I will have a tech hear the noise and see what his input is . I definitely feel the noise isn't normal and like I stated is quite noticeable only at 65mph

Tires will make different noised, depending on the road surface. If it only happens at 65 MPH, I would think it's something beside tire noise. Do you see or feel any vibration along with the noise? If so, you might have the infamous drive shaft vibration already mentioned in post #4.

That's what I originally thought it was maybe the infamous driveshaft problem but I'm not getting a vibration anywhere . And my best guess was maybe the tires cause another member here has the same issue same tires and even the test car I drove had the same humming noise along with the same Pirelli p zero Nero tires . I dunno maybe it's normal , altho a quick search I found another thread with a similar issue once you reach 65mph .

Make sure your tires are inflated to 32 psi cold ... maybe they are a bit low which might make them more noisy.
