So, how do I do that? Just rev the engine and dump the clutch? Is that all?
How many revs would you say would be enough to ensure I spin the tires and don't stall the engine instead? About 4K or so? Or more?
Should the traction control be turned off before that, or will the line lock take care of it (i.e. override it) automatically?
It only locks, applies the brakes to the front wheels, once you set the lock pushing the brake pedal, and then let off the pedal, only the front wheels are locked, the rear brakes are not applied. It should not take much to break traction, (My car is an auto) but in my older cars that I added line lock, and a stick, 2500 rpm was more than enough to let out the clutch and then mat the gas.

I have 28,000 miles on my Mustang, and the rear tires are just about done, so I've got new ones on order.

...So I did my first line lock burnout yesterday after work.
The YouTube videos about how to use the line lock are mostly useless. I can select Line Lock in a menu just fine.
They were all showing the screen, and not showing or saying what to do with my feet.
The first useful video was where the guy said:
When you've held your foot on the brake pedal and the screen says "Press OK to continue",
You have to continue holding the brake with all that force.
When you press OK and it works, you hear a ratcheting sound from the pedal, and the brake pedal kicks against your foot a little.
At that point you can completely take that foot off the brake, and push the gas pedal.
Use your right foot to select the desired RPM and noise 😁
And drop the clutch.

The tires didn't squeal, and it took a couple of seconds to see the smoke.
It took a second after that for the vent to suck in the smoke, and now my car smells like success. 😅
