so you're telling me you followed these instructions and you couldn't see the option? it's on the multi functional display. it's a sync2 option, like I said I have no idea about sync3/2016.
The manual never said to use the touch screen!
And the digital display has the same menu sequence until the expected Delay option, which was missing. That's what threw me.

So I went back to the touch screen and scrolled to the 2nd page and found it.
The display stays on anywhere from a few seconds to over 20 seconds. Not sure why the variance.

Anyway, thanks for caring, Fionic! (3rd week in my new car.)

That is one serious first world problem. lol
Yeah, and then there are the complicated headlamps, door locks, and windows!

Whoa, I thought this "delay" meant a delay for the camera to turn on when shifting into R, but now I see it's to keep the camera on for a little bit after shifting back into D! I'm definitely going to turn it on now! VERY useful feature for those of us who parallel park everyday!

You can also quickly turn off the camera delay after reverse by engaging the e brake quickly.

I use the delay when I am waiting in line and I think the car behind me is too close. I will slip into reverse and then out and I can see how far away the car behind me is. Usually, they are fine and I am just nervous.

I do the same with my '14 GT.

Why do you want to have the reverse camera on when you are going forward?
Entertainment value at the dragstrip! Back into the waterbox, then watch your burnout on the touchscreen as you roll forward - tires ablaze - heading toward the staging beams.

Well, I am really glad I asked this simple question. It is helping others.
I can't even remember why I wanted to use the feature! :headbonk:

[Edit: I remembered. It's because I like to coast just a little when backing out of a space. This way the camera stays on before I put it back into Drive.]

I like to leave it on when I back up to a curb and then roll forward just a hair and I can watch it in the rear camera. that's about the extent of why I want it on, though haha

My 2015 manual vert has the delay and I like it.

Pro Tip: If you're pulling forward and it seems to "stick", showing the camera longer than you think it should, just briefly pull and release the hand brake. Turns camera off instantly.

I tried it. Hated it. Drove me crazy seeing the road behind me as I drove up the street. I wish there was a front bumper camera for pulling into parking spots. I'm so cautious I find myself too far from the car in front of me and leave my back end out in the lane sometimes.

Just tried this again today in my manual GT-PP and it works. Camera seems to stay on for about 3 secs after coming out of reverse.

Tried my automatic, it stays on for at least 5-10 seconds.
Maybe your Sync needs an update?

The camera stays on until you reach 3 -5 mph. If you are just creeping along it will stay on until it is turned off by putting it in park or engaging the emergency brake.
