Hello everyone, just thought I'd share my experience with Ford replacing the backup camera on my 2020 Bullitt . As you know there was a recall for the backup camera, I waited because mine was working fine and I hate going to the dealership. Well I brought it in and they replaced the camera. When I left I did not put the car in reverse, shame on me for not doing that. Well the next day when I went to back up my driveway the guidelines in the camera were not there. I called the dealership and they said bring it back. The problem was the camera had to be flashed, they stated all the new cameras have the guidelines in them. I posted this because I have read numerous people complaining that their new cameras no longer have the guidelines in them, they are supposed to have them, they just need to be flashed. Have a good everyone.

That is really good news! My dealership advised me that the new camera did not have the guidelines....obviously they don't know everything they "should" know about replacing the camera. I was not having any problem with my camera yet and did not want to replace it if there were no guidelines....so I had the dealership get the replacement in for me and I just took it with me, in case my camera did give problems. Low and behold...on the next long distance trip, it started acting up. Works correctly about 50% of the time now. But, If I know I can put in the recall replacement camera and get the guidelines back, I'll be more inclined to put it in....just have to get with my dealership and clue them in that there is a way to get the guidelines back!

So I got with the dealership and told them there was a way in their computer to configure the rear backup camera.

I put the new replacement camera in myself and then went to the dealership. They printed out the instructions from Ford on how to configure the camera. Luckily, it's a very small dealership in a SW Iowa farm town...I personally know everyone that works there...so I was able to be with my car and tech as he tried to configure the camera.

Ford's instructions said to look in the Body Control Module section of their computer for the camera initialization and configure. The tech worked for about 45 minutes, but could not find anything to do with the rear camera in the BCM section. He was ready to throw up his hands a say it couldn't be done. I told him to calm down and let's look around in some other sections of the computer. I saw there was an Electrical section, so I had him look in there.....and there it was. The subsection was called Initialize new module. He hit the button and the computer searched the car and found the new camera. It then asked to configure the camera? It took about 5 seconds to initialize and configure the camera after he hit, "Yes"

Glad I was there to watch over what was going on, or they would have told me it was not possible. Funny that Ford's instructions were incorrect about where to find the subsection to configure the camera, but the tech would not have searched around for it at all, had I not been there pushing him to.

Now I have the new backup camera and I have the backup guidelines too!

That's great news and good information.
Perhaps their instructions are left over, or failed to update, from a previous version.
I know from personal experience that the back-up camera set up for my '12 Edge is in the BCM folder.
