How to remove dealer badges?

I hate the idea of spending so much on a car and then having to advertise for the dealer. I'm referring to the dealer badges that they put on.

The car that I'm looking at already has it on. No paint or decal, but I thick badge.

Would it be glued on? Not sure if there's a safe way to pop it off.

Have the dealer remove them prior to purchase, work it into the contract.

they are usually stuck on with 3m double sided tape.

Ask your dealer to remove them for you. If they wont, tell them you charge for advertising. The price is your monthly loan payment. This usually gets them to remove their badge. If they won't do it, i'd walk.

they are usually pretty easy to remove yourself as well. Heat the badge with a hair dryer, using thick fishing line to cut through the center of the tape. Once the badge is off, you can use an assorment of things to get the rest of the tape off the paint, I first use my finger and friction to get the chunks off, then I use GoGone to remove the glue resdue. and wash and wax immediatly after.

Just pull it off. Should be easy since it's new. I don't think it's that big of a deal to walk on a deal. Sometimes getting some fishing string or similar to get underneath it and pull up.

They're normally riveted on through drilled holes. Very hard to re-seal the holes.

I've tried that before, but dental floss tends to break easy. I try to get in the center of the tap itself and saw towards to the badge. Since it's a new car and the badge / tape is new, getting the chunks off with your finger should remove 99% of it

Take a hair dryer and heat up the badge, then get it started with dental floss. It will come right off. You will have residue left behind but there are a plethora of products out there for that.

Since the subject of badges was brought up, what about the factory badging?
Does anybody know yet if the GT and 5.0 factory badges on the 2015 are stick on or if they have pins thru holes in the body panels?

The dealer badge Im fine with because those are glued on, but the License plate is what I don't want them to touch... I do NOT want them drilling holes in my car.

On my Foxboy's they were just stick on and since I have seen a ton of 5.0 badges for sale for newer cars I would say they are just stick on - not 100% though.

It's a pretty common thing among some dealers. I've had one Taurus and one Corolla with riveted dealer badges.

I don't think dealers in the San Diego area put badges on cars. I've never seen it.
