How often do you get stopped…?

I have never had a car draw so much attention as my Mach 1 does. And it’s my 4th Mustang.

At least once every time I take it out someone is complimenting the car or asking about it. I had 3 guys stop me to chat fueling up the other day. I took my wife out for a date night last weekend in the car. While waiting for a table a guy came in and I overheard him say to his buddy: “did you see that gorgeous mustang pull in?”

gotta say, it feels good. Lol

Enjoy it. I do like the attention that I get from the valets. I know a lot of people on here don’t like to valet their cars but we go to mostly the same places so there’s a little trust factor because they always park me right up in front of the door.

The question that I always get though is did you repaint your car. When I tell them it was 2019 MY only they just tell me it’s beautiful. But that is the question I get a lot.

But, yes, I do get a lot of compliments. I wasn't used to it at first... and it's not a Mach 1 or GT, even... The S550 just has good lines.

I've only had the car about a week, so only driven about 160 miles so far (which is about 140 miles more than I would have driven in the last week if I didn't have this car), but in that time, I've noticed a good handful of stares as well as gotten a few 's. No one yet has stopped me in a lot to say anything, but that's probably also related to the fact that most of my drives have been joyrides where both the origin and the destination were home .

Oh, and I had a neighbor come out to admire and congratulate on the delivery day, too, if that counts! ... But I'm sure that was at least in part just friendliness, heh.

To this point, I’m going to be pi$$rd!! if I see a mach1 in my neighborhood before mine comes. One in silver would be doubly cruel. I even opted out of a ford discount plan for a GT to get a mach1. For me it wasn’t about the money but the uniqueness of it. I felt it would be a special car while seeing 10x the amount of very similarly fantastic GTs on the road and the GTs with the PP options are great. I guess they hit their target demographic with me as an example.

That may be the case depending where you live. I get pretty regular questions and compliments at gas stations, at work etc. where I was surprised by it at first. Sure non car people don't get it or care but average car guys are pretty interested. Women not so much but fewer of them are really car aficionados - some certainly are. The California special is a bit novel in that most people don't know what it is and I've only seen one other in my area so I get questions about that. I'd say for a stock car it gets just enough attention to not be bothersome but make me enjoy the purchase.

@davtpa I've yet to see a Mach 1 on the road. Just dealership lots and floors. Whoever bought those 6300, aren't in northern NJ.

I get similar reactions when I take mine out. Our cars must have come down the assembly line together, I have M6055.

I don’t have a Mach1, just a base GT. However, I’ve never had a nice car in my life until now. I don’t get stopped all that often but when I get complimented I tell people how much I appreciate them saying so. Owning my Mustang is a lot more than just a fun car to me. It was a huge amount of work and taking care of a shit load of financial responsibilities for my wife and kids before I could even start saving for my car…
