That’s the reason I went with the Continentals over the PS4S. Buddy who has managed Discount Tire for years said that they are both amazing tires, but the Pilots will probably not last as long.I guess I have a lot of fun because my PS4S last about 3 summers a set, only doing 4-5k miles per year on them. I store them in my basement in the winter because I am particular about my summer tires. I'm on my 2nd set and will replace them next year. Car is 6 years old.
I could eek it out to 20k I bet but not in a way I'd feel good about and I'd probably have to alter my habits.
The clutch drop tire spinning launches don't help but I only do them once in a while I swear.
It's true they won't last as long, but they give better grip while they do so that's why I go with them. They are a really soft tire. That’s the reason I went with the Continentals over the PS4S. yup, I’m a big fan of these ContinentalsContinental extreme contacts dws.. End of story. Grip like drag radials and last around 25k. But I only run them in the back. I pulled a 1.8 60 foot on them and almost stalled it because it hooked so hard on vht. That's crazy impressive for a street tire. They worked even better on my camaro ss. Pulled a 1.7 60 ft.
Hard to justify the the price premium for me. The Continentals are very solid and last longer. It's true they won't last as long, but they give better grip while they do so that's why I go with them. They are a really soft tire.
Another thing I like about them is they have an awesome side wall design compared to Continental.
