Yes, exactly. Every manual transmission in a V-8 Mustang (Fox and up) failed when it first came out, except for the first T5s (and they were weak and would need upgrading quickly). The SROD lost gears entirely, the T45s barely had synchros, the first T-56s (a transmission originally designed for the Mustang, and finally arriving years late) has problems, and now the MT82. I had one of each of these, and they all failed.
So that's why the choice of a new transmission for 2011 was a milestone: would Ford get it right or blow it again. The intentions were there to get a great transmission, with the Coyote-optimum gearing (which the TR6060 absolutely didn't have), and world-class shift effort. But clearly Ford failed in their choice, the engineering, and the testing.
So that's why I want to see a testing program and details of what changed internally - IF anything. It's an IF right now.
And the testing program should be publicized just like the torture testing that is being done for the new F-150.
