I am in Trinity (10-15 mins west of Land O' Lakes), with my poor little ole VMP TVS. We could all meet up, just let me know when!

Good cause I could use your help with my suspension mods and I'd like to get a look at the VMP kit too. Lol

What pulley/boost/power/times did you get?
I have a Stg3 kit with a 79mm pulley, twin 67mm tb and a full kooks exhaust with cats, roughly 11-12psi on 93 pump. I put down 602/490 on a Mustang dyno through my auto in the summer heat, which reads 13% less then another local dyno (675/550'ish). I went to the strip last month (July/DA was 1950+) on a set of worn out 315/35-20 Nitto NT05R's on 20x11 True Forged Chicanes just to get datalogs for Lund. I blasted the tires off the line, with traction control on, car instantly shifted into 2nd gear (Auto), still trapped 99mph and ran 7.2's with a 1.79 60ft (8th mile). I'm headed to the strip 3 times in November, will be posting up vids and timeslips then. I've had 3 10sec cars in the past and this GT is easily a mid to upper 10sec car at 130+ with a set of Welds and some good air. I'll probably switch to an off-road H-pipe and get a tune on MS109 for the drag strip, same boost.

fwiw I put a few bus lengths on an Auto 8spd Hellcat, video is on my Youtube page.

The DOB kit goes on pre-order sale in the next week or so. Cheaper than all the rest, runs cooler than the rest and is the easiest to install. Makes 550rwhp same as the rest.

Just to be clear, we make 650rwhp, not 550, out of the box. We are also 50-state legal, don't have to cut the K-brace and certainly don't need to grind the block.

Thanks for the info. Definitely a solid 10 second ride with better tires and air.

It seems that Whipple spent the time re-designing their supercharger just for the S550 while the other companies merely adapted their current offering from the previous gen. Mustang (which is why there's cutting/grinding or new motor mounts/etc involved)? I'm not saying the other supercharger kits are not quality pieces or will not work as advertised, but my criteria is not about something that just works. I'm willing to pay extra for a high quality piece both in design, function, and quality/consistency of the part itself. Also, it is nice that I could return to stock at some point without leaving visible traces of the install (always make more money returning the car to stock that I'm selling and then selling off the aftermarket pieces separately). Sounds like there's really no equal to Whipple (again, based on my criteria only)?

Kenne Bell completely redesigned their system. The only carry over parts from the s197 is the blower drive bracket, because the timing chain covers are indentical, and the supercharger itself. Everything else is built for the s550.

The engine lowering mount set is nothing new, or exceptional. The s197 system uses them. Any large displacement compressor (regardless of brand) uses them in the s197/GT500.

Not familiar with the latest Mustang aftermarket stuff, but having messed with mods on Japanese imports there are always a few standout aftermarket companies that produce the highest quality stuff. They usually cost more than the rest but are well worth it. I'm looking at getting a 16 GT and curious which supercharger kit(s) are the high quality in this regard? For other platforms, this is typically what you find with the better stuff:

1. OEM-like fit and finish. Manufactured parts are consistent from one to the next.

2. High quality hardware included - you don't need to buy anything additional because its missing or the hardware in the kit is sub-standard.

3. Well tested before release and everything works as it should - no beta testing products on paying customers who then have to figure out how to get it to fit or work properly.

4. Included tunes work well without any driveability issues when map guidelines are followed (correct mods/gas/etc).

5. Extra care was taken in the design to minimize cutting or similar modifying of the car to get stuff to fit.

6. Reliability - this one may be hard to judge, but out-of-the-box or long-term failures are usually very rare with the high quality stuff.

7. In-depth and clear installation instructions and/or install videos.
Only one company comes to mind, WHIPPLE :headbang:

Very nice, although I couldn't find the youtube video.

How much did the kit and install cost?

Do you have the same kit for the 2011-2014 5.0's?

EDIT: Saw the info on your website. Are you selling complete kits, or do buyers still need to have a grocery list of additional items they need to purchase?

Remember, too, that it's not exactly apples-to-apples when comparing horsepower and torque output numbers from a relatively-conservatively-tuned, warranty-backed kit (such as Whipple and Roush, for example) vs. another kit that's been custom-tuned, devoid of warranty. That doesn't even take into consideration the myriad of other factors that could potentially influence dyno numbers such as temperature, humidity, elevation relative to sea level, dyno type, etc.

My personal choice is Whipple but, like others have stated, you can't really go wrong with any of the kits.
