Does anyone happen to have a video of what their high speed cooling fans sound like when they are running 100%? I've been chasing cooling issues and the car keeps getting hot (230 CHT's) when idling. Car runs 204-212 CHT when driving, but heats up quickly when sitting. I'm running a Procharger stage II system with Lund tune. Just swapped the thermostat from a Reische 170 to the stock stat and it's MUCH improved while driving, but still getting crazy hot when idling. Lund told me the Reische 170's have a very high failure rate and recommended I re-install the stock stat with three 3/16 holes drilled in the plunger which I did. Made a HUGE difference as my car would routinely run 219-225 on the freeway with the Reische stat.
Now that I've got the cooling sorted out with the car moving, I need to verify my fans are running full blast. With the CHT's above 210 the fans are barely audible and I'm thinking they may not be functioning correctly. I've already checked the fuses and relays, so I've ruled that out I think. Has anyone heard of the water pump leaking internally causing issues without an actual external leak? Any help is appreciated.

Sorry I don’t have a video right now but do have the reische 170 thermostat installed with pbd tune and usually the fan kicks on as soon as my temps see 196-200. Even with my car idling and with my catless corsa exhaust, I can clearly hear the fan turn on. You should be able to hear when it kicks on.

They are for sure on, but I don't think they are running on maximum speed.

I see, If I remember correctly before with stock thermostat the temperatures would be like 205-215. I think the fans are only one speed but not 100 percent sure so if you hear them on it should be working correctly. Other thing to check would be make sure they are spinning the right way, just an idea.

Correct, But Lund has them switched to 100% by 200 CHT. I'll verify they are running the correct direction just in case
