actually there is 1 thing I like about the base model ecoboost over GT.

No fender badging etc. I think their should be an option from factory to "stealth" and remove all additional badging/fender badge etc. a lot of gt guys even agreed because I had people asking to trade fenders lol. which as an ecoboost owner, why would I want a fender with holes for the 5.0 badging.

its a clean look.
DUDE im with you on that. the first mod I will do will probably be removing the 5.0's. I don't need the clout.

complete rubbish. Sorry, I don't know what the hell is wrong with your throttle-body but I was lucky to break into 20 when driving the EB "properly".
there was something wrong with your ecoboost. absolutely stomping it around all day long I never got under 26-28mpg. but since I do 90% highway, I averaged 30-36 or so worst case. (3.31 gearing with manual) not sure how that impacts it.

but this was the same on both 87 and 93, just once I got ford tuned I needed 91/93 always

keep in mind guys, I paid (21k before tax) 23k OTD for my fully loaded 2017 ecoboost premium pony package. it was the last 2017 grabber blue ecoboost in the nation for sale on the showroom floor. I flew out to Montana and drove it back to ohio in middle of blizzards and snowstorms.

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...e-ecoboost-premium-build.117171/#post-3063326

drove it around had a good time, 2.5 years later sold it for 26k not mad. yeah I lost like 7-8k in mods. but whatever I got to own a sporty car.

I absolutely loved my car. but if all was the same price, yes id pick GT. but if the price was right on either car, I do not condone the EB. the eb was fine for daily, the ford tune was a great pep up in power.

ignore the lugs, this is when I first got the wheels and had to wait for the correct acorn small gorilla lug nuts to come in. wasn't a single rock chip on it, since I PPF'd expel ultimate day 1 everywhere

even has my signature penguin up in the rear view mirror guys. driving around an iceberg. some people love or hate window chrome trim, I grew to love it. pony package feature

bro, i got a 2021 explorer, too, and i average around 21mpg's combined. sure, its heavier, but you can absolutely drive these cars hard enough to push the mpg's into the dirt. highway driving will get you better mpg's because you aren't in boost as much and you're getting more miles, its the around town stuff that kills mpg's in small engine turbo cars because you're constantly going in and out of boost.

only if you are flooring it. my alternate car I bought for my gf, its a 1.4 turbo 2015 sonic hatchback. when she drives it, she gets like a 28-30mpg average. SHE FLOORS IT EVERYWHERE. I swear a 300 foot light to light she floors it. always in boost.

me, I get 38mpg in her sonic. I dont see a point to put the gas to the floor for in city driving myself. this could be driver error and personalities. hell I maybe able to get 25mpg in a gt, im like a granny I guess in terms of aggressiveness. dont have any aggression in me. I floor it onto highway thats it. then cruise control at speed limit. thats my day

oh no, im just saying.

I wish ford Offered a badge delete as a stand alone feature just like they have blackout models. in fact, id pay more for a badge delete on vehicles. the mach 1. I generally think it looks better without all that striping/vinyl. it has an awesome body shape, thats why many members are deleting all that extra fancy stuff that ford added onto it.

waste of material though and effort. I bet that isn't easy to apply perfectly

I don't feel any turbo hit in the HPP it feels like a perfectly linear power delivery for the most part.

Just as good as the Volvo 2.0 super charged turbocharged engine.
you know you said something just now that does have me puzzled, im posting 2 graphs from Cobb. one is regular EB and with upgraded IC next is HPP with base and upgraded IC

these are tunes they did for them.

in my opinion, the HPP looks to have lower peak numbers than base, but carries higher / more linear. the FPP tune that I used is equivalent basically to the stage 1 roughly on base EB and I loved it. but id pick Ford tune over Cobb base tune just because, warranty and such.

between these two which would you prefer?

-- edit. also check out the "base" numbers on both the stock eb and stock HPP. pretty close, just smoother linear. which you mentioned, but theres only so much they can do with the stock intercooler. the larger turbo I guess just smooths it out a bit and holds a little more power in rpm

Will you remove the cobra and SVT badges from your cobra also?

there isn't a dime-bit of difference between those COBB tunes. The HPP cost is $6000 which is in no way justified - yes, I know it comes with the GT caliper set, the extra pod of gauges, active-exhaust, and Ford Performance's sorry-ass "street" suspension pack.

The HPP's slightly bigger turbo can be helpful sure, but a proper tune on the lesser EB more than matches the factory-stock HPP config.

The IC simply keeps temps down which allows more timing to be used and is essential regardless of the size of turbo.

yep. id pass on HPP entirely, put 6k towards the car and 200-300 IC, 2k in steeda suspension and such. which is what I did.

my favorite mods for real. 1 the barton short throw shifter, 2 suspension steeda, 3 ford tune + IC. those 3/4 together it drove wonderfully and shifted like butter. I also changed the manual fluid to I forget the name, but the recommended aftermarket fluid on here. that was worth it as well

would be done day 1 on any future ecoboost

this is the 2015-2017 ecoboost FP tune which I got, I guess the 18+ FPP got 1-2 more psi allowed on it. but was still enough to have plenty of fun.

WHAT THE FK? it says 950?!?! FOR PRICE?!? I paid 450! and I sold the gt350 CAI that came with it (because its worthless) just put a kn air filter in stock box. for 150 bucks. so 300 for tune

I have always gotten more than 20 mpg in my HPP in track mode and driving the shit out of her.
