Does this look about right? I was having some trouble getting it to start after this video, and to stay running. I was thinking maybe some old fuel and additives I couldn't quite drain out of the tank some I only had 5 gallons of E85 to put in it?
I'm going to fill the tank to dilute any residuals out and see of it helps.

E85 idle log 1:

This is the original. It threw a wrench light and said see manual. I'm guessing that it's because the fuel went to zero and was hard to start a few times.

What's to lean of an AFR when light cruising? I want to drive to the gas station and put 11 more gallons of E in it to dilute any remnants of the old stuff.

... I thought Eric Brooks was working out the tuning issues with my base tune this week, but I guess not. Waiting to hear back. Had a good first interaction once I got in touch with him, then he disappeared for a week with a base tune that was causing my car issues.

I've reached out to him a few times. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

He logged in remotely, watched it, wrote a revision, installed it, and had me start it back up. Just dis step logs. Haven't put it under boost yet. Now I'm chomping to stomp on it. He said this tune probably won't need much revision, had some bad starting and idle issues. I filled up with E85 and it seems to be running and idling a little smoother. Work in progress. It's weird seeing 9's in the AFR meter. Maybe it'll equate to 9's at the track too lol

i dont really want to run 100% e85 and kill my fuel sensor and lines very quickly like what happened in my 135i....any chance on a 30% e85 and 93 mix tune from lund?

Maybe, I'd be curious to see what he did. Most of my stuff is all just wot tuning.

Lund says no to E85 without a full return fuel system swap. Sadly.

So I learned something - if your car has a rough idle and stalls (not clutch stalling, I mean the motor stumbles because the tune is off) - it can throw a little yellow wrench light on the info center and it puts the car into some sort of limp mode.

You can actually FEEL the intake slam shut at like 2500 rpm, I thought something broke. It just said, "see manual" - not - hey I'm trying to break your driveline with massive power downs unexpectedly. All I had to do was restart it and get it to idle smooth and drive and it would clear, but holy hell.

So we're working on the idle. I can tell already this is going to be awesome, though, so I'm not sweating it. I saw NO - NONE - NADA - on any log about knock sensor activity - false or otherwise.

Stoked.

If you though the 2,500 felt wild....

The GM cars when the LS2 first came out, would do it at FULL throttle around 5,800. :) The first time that happens with a 800HP car, your eyes get realllllllly big, when you think the rods just came out of the motor. (Since when its in limp mode it idles on 4-6 cyl. only.... ROUGH to say the least) 30 second key cycle clears it. But its been a long long time since those days of the LS2 learning curve.

But yes, shutting throttles is spooky.
And E85 is awesome.

It grabbed my attention immediately because it felt like something let go at that low rpm. It reminded me I need to start saving for a short block for the eventual day this tom foolery comes to an expensive re-beginning!

I've never owned as LS car, but almost bought one until I drove the 5.0. You can't argue with how awesome a big motor is or the potential. Love / Hate a Chevy if you will - but I'd drive an LS any day. I just liked the refinement of the 15 GT Premium PP vs the 2SS Camaro I drove. Much more polished.

It felt like the TB slammed shut and the fuel completely stopped - which is what I'm guessing happened, since my AFR jumped to 20.0 in like 1 second at light throttle. Also, an attention getter. Just knowing I didn't toss a rod is good enough reason for scotch tonight.

So I tested 3 different e85 pumps tonight, and learned where I filled up was only 70%. So I spent most of the night testing and logging emptying that rank to zero and filling it with actual 85%. Even the 70% though, holy shit. Talk about timing. It's going to be bad ass. I haven't checked my short WOT logs but I can tell you it was way more power than pump gas. Good times.
