I can't speak from personal experience on this, but I have heard really awful things about Hennessey, most of these things are several years old though and they claim to be under new management.

I did have a friend that went to the Hennessey Performance school a couple years ago and he told me some things that would make me not want to send my car there.

Like what MrBillton ? I'd love to hear them. Most of the stories I've heard or read about are many years ago. I have to be honest, I'm really digging the 200mph car. That would be unbelievable. But I'm still scared. I think meeting with someone who has spent money there is really the best first step. I guess I should stop by the shop too.

Well he went to the school and told me they would "test" out customer cars sometimes...he also told me they take customers parts (stock or aftermarket) for their own cars...

how much this is true...if it still happens...how often it happens...I can't say...

I just remembered I do have another buddy that sent his CTS-V to Hennessey more recently and I haven't heard him say anything bad though...let me shoot him a text message and see what his experience has been like and I'll get back to you,

Believe me, I dig the car too, it looks and sounds awesome!

I would touch anything Hennessey does period!!! There are so many other reputable tuners out there that blow away their quality, price and looks for that matter!

Honestly...I don't understand the idea of getting a "tuner-package" to begin with. You can do everything they do, for a fraction of the cost.

Especially the engine! You can get that done for half the cost...less if you do it yourself or with a buddy.

But, back to the video. Righteous speed outta' that car! It shows just how good the factory aero is on a stock S550...

Oh no doubt. I'm not saying my last stang got anywhere close to 200mph but I was apart of every piece. The problem is that it took a ton of work and heart ache that I was not prepared to deal with. I'm ready to just get a packaged deal where I expect it to be done when I get it back. I just don't have the energy to fight another build. So I'm either going to just do a couple of bolt on's or do something like a rouch/steeda/Hennessey package where I know off the bat what I'm getting. I want the easy road this time.

If you trust a company that's had to change it's name 6 times than be my guest. Second chances are fine but at some point you have to call a spade a spade.

If you absolutely have to have a kit car and refuse to buy your supercharger by itself(that's all hennessey is doing...) then go with Steeda or Roush.

Honestly you are better off talking with travis@boostworks and having him put a blower on there for you. Talk with Travis and tell him what you want, I guarantee that he can take care of you.

I hear you. With that being said, you should check out some major online vendors. Guys like VMP, Beefcake, Brenspeed, Evoperform, etc...or go more mainstream with the likes Steeda or Roush. I believe most of these shops can do the installs for you as well. Drop it off and pick it up a completely different beast. :) Good luck on your choice!

Really nice job and video. Can hardly wait to see this on Jay Leno's show.

I was impressed that the 5.0L engine produces 774 HP without any internal engine upgrades (excluding higher flow fuel injectors). I wonder if the same level of power can be accomplished with the Ecoboost Mustang via a tune and no engine internals upgrades (maybe more heat shields re Ecoboost Mustang recall?).

Link to HPE 750 specs and test photos.

Just following up on this thread...I talked to my friend, he had sent his CTS-V there for the 610hp package, then again for the 650hp package. He said that his dealings with them have been just fine, no problems or shady issues that he is aware of.

For what it's worth, he mentioned that he does have a buddy that works there in the HPE sales dept.

personally, it's seems way too overpriced for what it is.
there is no body modification (Roush/Saleen) just carbon parts tacked on.
the only big ticket item listed is the supercharger (which i'm sure they get a heck of a deal the the bulk quantity they purchase)

the mostly the same price, Saleen will get you a unique exterior (front end, hood, rear bumper, wing etc) unique interior (new seat leather, trim etc)

Henessey will give you tacked on carbon bits, exterior stickers, floor mats and headrests...

Compare the 2.... which would you buy for the money(personally, i'm keeping my Steeda:D)

EDIT: to be clear, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Hennessy or their cars, i'm just saying it's too much for what it is.
