Ford’s Modular V8 and Coyote families of engines use similar design oil pumps, which share a common failure point. These powdered metal gears have a high rate of failure when used in performance applications. What about the lower crank gear? I read on another forum that you guys use the stock gear on all your builds. Do you plan to release a billet lower crank gear? Its been talked about on this forum and just wanted to get your take. Thanks

Hey, do you have a link. I have been searching online but haven't seen anything in regards to failures. I'm trying to justify the cost of parts plus $850 for labor.

There have been a few failures in every year of the Coyote, both stock and modified. It is a weak link from stock unfortunately. We actually have had a couple of vehicles with basic bolt ons come in with the gear in pieces.
