OK, I went and bought a tap, and now I cannot reach the hole. there doesn't seem to be a way to get it to screw correctly. Are you been dropped the subframe as if I was going to uninstall the spring, and it looks like the subframe moved to the side and then the tap is not straight anymore. I am limited on jacks that are tall enough to reach the subframe, so I cannot drop the entire subframe to gain working space. I think I should I need to buy an extender as if this were a socket or something to reach up through the whole, but I don't know what that is called.

jack the subframe back up to where its seated, find a socket that fits that tap, use an extension to make it the length you need

Thank you very much for your reply, I tried to do that first, but the issue I ran into was that I do not have a socket that fits over the end of this. They are either too big, or too small. I tried it with the one that fit the closest, and whenever there was resistance it just slipped over the end. That seemed like the easiest as well as the best solution for me as well.

I want to say, that that still seems like the best solution. Jack up the subframe to where it's almost seated, and then find a socket or something that fits the end of the tap, and then put on an extension and torque it through the hole. My brother is on his way to come pick me up and give me a ride to the part store, I'm going to take the tap with me as well as my ratchet and extension to see if we can find some viable options.

lot of car subframes are like this for speed of manufacturing, bad for precision though

Aren't the OEM bolts self-tapping? That's what Steeda told me and it seems to be the case.

Oh my God that was an asshole clenching moment. Just finished tapping (first time ever using one) and put lots of oil and ran the tap in and out to clean debris. Bolt will not go in with the Steeda alignment sleeve which is dumb because the other three are on. The passenger front and rear cradle sleeves are on which would make me think that the driver side front and rear cradle sleeves should lineup. The driver side rear cradle lined up just fine so that is three out of four. I have no idea why the driver side front cradle alignment sleeve will not line up. I also do not care. I think that is really freaking stupid! I am not going to put this in and strip this fucking hole again. Three out of four is not bad. I owe you a beer, man. You too GilSilcox

Are you trying to put the 4th one in, after the other three are tight?

If so, loosen them ALL up....and let the cradle hang down about 1" (gap between the body and top bushings) then address the one you are having issues with, first. Thread it in about half way....then caddy corner the next one...then just tighten them up like .25" at a time.

It is a pita, but can be done. Most people will "distort" the cradle slightly when centering it due to OEM tolerances.

This is a very good reason why we didnt "perfectly" center the cradle with the CB005 Kit....but just made it "more centered" - we had you guys in mind during the install.

Good luck!

This is the debris on the tap one of four passes each pass look like this or a little bit less. Edit, never mind, they photos are not uploading for some reason.

I used a 14-2.0 titanium tap, 3/8 10 points socket, A 3/8 to 1/2 conversion piece, a 6 inch extension, and a ratchet.
