Is there a gear indicator on the display that I can turn on? the few times I hit the paddle shifters, I'll see a gear number pop up, but it immediately goes away. I ask because in my 2013 F150, there's a row of numbers, and the current gear you are in is highlighted.

RE: Paddle Shift gear lights: Do you have an automatic or manual transmission. If automatic, do you have it set to "D" or "S" ?

Sorry; GT premium, automatic.

95% of the time I'm in normal mode. I've switched to sport+ via toggle, but not on the shifter. Always "D".

Is there an indicator that only shows up under certain modes?

Since you have the shifter in "D" you are only temporarily overriding the automatic gear change. When the light is illuminated, you have manually selected the gear; when it goes out the auto shift has taken over. If you put the shifter into the "S" and then use the paddles the auto shift wont take over and the gear indicator will remain on.

Thanks, I couldn't find it in the manual. I was hoping I could get it to be displayed all the time, but it looks like that's a no go.

Guess that means I'll just have to stay in S mode all the time. :D

I'm newbie to using paddle shifters. I was having trouble on down shifting. Idk if I'm doing it to early, but whenever I drop it down to gear 1 or 2 while slowing down the car jerks. Any help?

Any car we going from 2nd to 1st unless stopped is gonna jerk. Most manual won't even let you get in 1st unless creeping or double clutch rev match.
My suggestion is downshift to 2nd only and to 1st when stopped or let the computer select it for you.
