Help deciding: Should I get a 2018 EB-Premium …or a 2017 EB-Premium w/Perf.Pack.

2017 - Pro's:

* Performance package ( not going to track it, it will be my DD car)
* Personally, i prefer the front look better...
* Lower payments = more car for the money.

2018 - Pro's:
* 10 speed
* i hear that the 2018 premium model comes with same modif/upgrades as the perf.package came on the 17. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Which one would you get? ....and why?

Thanks!:ford:

For me it would be an 18 for the 10 speed auto, the heated steering wheel, the digital dash, the upgraded interior bits and ability to get magna ride. I also have come to prefer the front of the 18 but that is not so much a reason as the others.

Get a used 2016 or 2015 Mustang GT. ;) Mod the heck out of it and enjoy.

If you're set on the EB, go with 2018. You can get the PP parts that you can actually feel while daily driving for pretty cheap. You're not going to notice stuff like radiators and differentials too much. It's also got a decent bit more power than the 2017s.

Another reason to get the 2018 is that it is actually different from what you already drive. It'd be hard for me to justify to myself getting the same car other than some upgrades I could have done anyway.

yes.. same feeling..currently driving a 15' base and considering going to a 17 premium...
it should be a nice upgrade considering i spend 2 hours a day in my car...but it does feel like getting the "same car" ......

I just went from a 2016 Base V6 to a 2017 Premium PP GT, and the interior is far better than I initially thought. I never knew the premium had soft touch rubber on the top of the door panels, instead of the hard plastic that the base has. The dash cowls have white stitching in them, unlike the base. The sound system is far better (if you get the shaker, or shaker pro). All in all, it's a nice place to be.

That being said, I was/am in the same boat as you when it comes to looks of the 18. I love grabber blue and I prefer the front end of the 15-17. I accidentally drove a GT and fell in love with the 5.0. My V6 had less than 6k miles on it, and was far cheaper than this GT, but I couldn't pass up the awesome deal I got on this slightly used GT.

Nobody but you can make this decision. I had the choice to get an 18' with more power but very happily declined. Consider your options, you can come ahead by paying less and getting more. You may even want to look at a GT if you're going to spend the dough and pay taxes again.

The only reason to not get the18. Is cost.

I would buy a used one. My 2016 GT (if it were stock... heh) could fetch, at most, $27K and that's if the person buying it is an idiot. I wouldn't pay $25K for it used. Find yourself a certified used one, get yourself a better warranty setup than all of us have, and pay less. I know some people who paid more out the door for their new EB than I did for my new GT... ridiculous. Absolutely no reason to buy an EB new unless you must have specific options and color, in my opinion. Far too many used options around...

I regret not getting my ecoboost in automatic when I had it, I think it would be great with the 10 speed auto. Keep it spooled much better.

Seriously man... is there a reason why you are ignoring all of the people saying "buy a used GT" in here?
