Just finished installing coilovers, took my time over 2 days and did everything 100% correct. Torqued everything to spec, used blue/red loctite where necessary, preloaded the springs properly using a set of calipers for precision, torquing suspension components under loads, everything, you name it.

They are ISC coilovers, I had everything set to 1 softer than the middle settings, it was not lowered super aggressively either, I had about a .75-1" wheel gap all around.

Just emailed them and every department they have, Can anyone help me find the correct part number and where I can get this order to be speed shipped to me before sunday?

I need to go back to school and I cannot be without a car.

I do not have part # s ..
I am curious how the over all install process has turned out in your opinion and what if any difficulties you encountered other than breaking the top mount ?

And how do you think this mishap with the mount occuŕed ?

The bottom part of the shock would not line up correctly, but that was because the spherical was very stiff and not broken in yet, so I put load on the lower h-arm to compress the shock in order to line up the bottom mounts (load would twist the spherical to orient the correct way)

Other then that it was very easy, I did everything as advised, set the spring, preloaded the shock 5mm, torqued everything down and done

Are they just hit or miss from the factory? I just ordered one and it'll be here tomorrow thank god.

So this could just be an OEM part problem and not the coilovers?

I wouldn't blame the coilovers. I blew out my drivers side. I went ahead and ordered a spare one just in case it happens again.

Seems like there have been a number of people that have all blown one side out, replaced it with the stock part, then never had another issue.

That suggests to me that there is either a bad batch out there or a QC issue when producing them that makes the occasional one weak.

The OEM shock mount was not designed to handle the loads of a coilover spring. If it is working I'd think you're on borrowed time. Strictly from a safety standpoint I'd insist on a mounting solution properly engineered for this application.

The shock and coilover spring are separate for the ISC's, the spring and perch is in the normal location, the only thing the mount is supporting is a new shock which was set softer than the default value

Make sure you are using bump stops then. The OEM shock mount design requires them. The bottom plate needs to share the load. Without bump stops we've had a few forum members blow out the top plates.
