Good afternoon Mustang6g family. I've had an ongoing problem with my 2015 GT PP. My brakes squeal so loud! It is quite embarrassing... especially in such a nice car. Has anyone else had this problem with theirs? I tried pulling the "TSB" card that a few other members posted about and the dealer turned me down. My VIN # didn't fall within the parameters of the TSB. (was built after the date applicable). With that being said my brakes still have decent life left so I feel dumb replacing a part that has a lot of life left... but I don't know how much longer I can stand the squeal! :frusty: Only happens when applying normal brake pressure... when I jam on them it doesn't squeal. The dealers suggestions were:

1. deal with it
2. have them make a small cut on my rotors/pads and clean everything up (Cost of $170)
3. replace the parts required from the TSB (Not in warranty, would cost $450)
4. search for an aftermarket pad and hopefully that would fix it

ANY SUGGESTIONS?! THANK YOU!

Common issue, addressed many times in other threads already. Here was my fix: Powerstop Z23 carbon ceramic pads. Fifty bucks on rockauto. 30 minutes to install them. Still great performance (initial bite is not as good as OEM pads, though for the street that's actually a good thing), but no squeal at all and no dust either.

TSB was not for GT PP - it was for a non-PP GT and EB PP (which has same brakes as non-PP GT).

I would start with sanding the pads and rotors with 100 grit sanding paper + brake cleaner and see if that helps.
