Just wondering what people are doing for long term solutions to being catless and not having a check engine light now that tuners won’t disable rear o2’s?

I previously had my Corsa longtubes installed for almost 3 years on my old 2019 and uninstalled them of course before trading in. Recently traded it for a 2019 pp2 and already got another e85 tune. I plan to install my headers, and I already have a set of Big Daddies Garage 90* O2 spacers that I previously used when I had to go back to stock tune for emissions tests. But I only ever relied on them for short periods of time and never got on it since I was on stock tune with headers.

Just curious if these 90* spacers will work long term to prevent a CEL now that I can’t get the rear o2’s turned off, or if there is a better solution. From reading other threads, sounds like these aren’t always 100% reliable, especially when the car is driven hard. I also know the CEL doesn’t hurt anything, but I just can’t live with a CEL on my basically brand new car. Damn EPA.

O2 spacers with 3 choices of metered inserts. Got to do a lot of fooling, but it can be done.

Or skip the headers and go twin turbos. Not sure why but my emissions monitors all go green no problem, with out any trickery. Maybe because so much of the exhaust gas is being recirculated? Just guessing on this cause you can smell the 100oct coming out the exhaust but my o2s are happy.

Sounds like the 90’s work with varying amounts of flow reduction. Guess I will just stick with them and add restriction as necessary.
And that’s interesting about the Turbo setup haha, and while that does sound like an excellent solution, my wallet is saying no. Plus, I’ve got my heart set on a whipple in a few years. Just always really wanted a roots style supercharged v8.

Just keep in mind that the very groups that you fear are monitoring these forums. The Smog Police were on a street close by today pulling in CARS and diesel trucks for an inspection and a short ride on the rollers.

Not really afraid of anyone, just don’t want to have a check engine light on all the time. I’ve used these successfully for a number of years at inspection time, just wasn’t sure about using them all the time without having the rear o2’s turned off like on my previous car.

Besides, they should be thanking me for running E85 and putting out less emissions than a car on 93 haha. And I also hope crap like what you are talking about stays out of Texas, although I know everyone is losing their sense of humor about modified cars these days.

I wish that you are right about this crap staying out of your state. But there is an agenda that is relentless. Just watched the Mexican Grand Prix and that city looks like LA in the 60's air quality wise. And looking around the rest of the world like in China and India not much better if not worse.

But it is about the Agenda.

If you're running stock headers you wont get a CEL, at least until the cats wear out.

This thread is about catless headers so I think it's safe to say we are talking about setups with out them.

But you said "skip the headers" and go twin turbo. You're getting no cel on catless headers..? You sure your tuner didn't just disable the light? There's not anything stopping them from doing it, other than the threat of the EPA

They are low mount turbos so they sit where the factory cats were. I'm tuned by Lund so no they absolutely won't disable the light since their epa issues. Plus I've verified all my emission monitors go green. Not sure why and who knows if others are having the same luck with the sleeper kit. (I was mostly kidding with my original comment) I was planning to install the defoulers when it threw a cel but that never happened. Over a year and a half and 30k miles boosted with no issues.

I was born & raised in Mexico city. When I would get on the roof of my house I would look down town & could just see one big dark cloud. Once night time hit & most cars were off the streets you would finally be able to see the lights of the few tall buildings down town.
