Hello guys, trying to have some feedback on the HAWK HPS 5.0 pads.
Any better than stock for normal road and fast road use?
No track use at all, just some fast road driving.
Thanks

You can't beat the factory pad for all around use. Yes they are dusty but then that's what you get for real stopping power over and over and over and over.

I was wondering what your question was about - the factory pads are the closest thing you'll get to a race pad. If you're looking for more capacity for solid, repeatable braking on a racetrack, there are no "sport" or "street/race" pads out there that measure up - they're all a downgrade from stock.

If what you're looking for is a higher friction coefficient pad, then there might be something out there that'll do it. Thing is, most street pads aren't intended to produce high brake torque, so they're likely "softer" than the factory pads.

Now that you've said what you're looking for, you might get some input. Happy hunting!

Honestly I can't imagine more bite than the stock pads. When I first got my 2019, I was constantly over braking by applying too much initial pressure. It took awhile to squeeze softer on the pedal so I didn't annoy my passengers.

Did you get the HAWK HPS 5.0 pads in the end? Are they any good? Brought the stock pads to the track for a weekend, left with a soft-ish paddle feel, probably because there's only like 50 percent left in the front. The rear seems ok, according to a mechanic.
Really want to get the immediate, solid paddle feel from the stock pads back!

I have had the hawk 5.0 pads and I didn't think they were bad. They were an improvement over my stock pads in the Mustang GT in terms of brake bite and feel. That said, the GT350 comes oem with Ferodo DS2500 pads and those are really good street and track pads. I am running Feoro DS1.11 and they are even better at the track and I have no issues driving them on the street.

Buying brake pads require a comprimse somewhere. IMO, you either have street pads or track pads. There isn't an in between.

Very interesting - I did not realize that the OE pads were the Ferodo 2500s - no wonder I like them so much! They certainly have similar pedal feel characteristics as the 2500s I have on a 6 piston upgrade on my Boss 302.
