Have you had your daily dose of Bullitt?

This is a shorter version of the full chase, but the color is much better.

Some things I notice every time:
1. The green is awesome
2. The engine sounds amazing
3. The Charger is a land yacht now and it was back then, too!
4. The green Bug keeps reappearing
5. The suspension abuse...yikes!
6. No CGI!!

First time the camera was put in the car so the viewer could experience the chase better. When shown in the cinemas on the big screen, people were vomiting from the jump scenes. Most influential and perhaps greatest car chase ever filmed. Filmed real time with no music, just the sound of the engine & tyres.

I recently read that they had to slow the Charger down, I think it was running on 6 cylinders, so the Mustang could keep up... anyone know if this is true?

@bullittt, you’re already in SF, find someone with a black Charger and recreate that chase scene with a twist by doing it at 0200-0300 in the morning.

I did notice that throughout the whole scene, there is a lot of emphasis on the engine noise of the Mustang but you don't hear it that much with the Charger. I don't know enough about those cars to compare but I can see that the Charger was available with engines ranging from 230hp to 375hp.

I read that they had 2 of each car to the do scene. I'd imagine that the hill chase in the city was done last because after repeatedly jumping the cars like that, everything in the suspension must've been bent or ruined!

I concur about the green being awesome . My buddy came by yesterday and we gave his 2020 Bullitt a bath after the first week of being ceramic coated, and I got some killer pics in the sunlight. Such an amazing color

Couple more of the Bullitt on our photo marathon this weekend. Man I wish I had kept searching for a Bullitt. I do love my GT though, the Grabber blue is almost as unique

I don t know , the mustang misses his turn at 55 seconds and still catches right back up, LOL

I remember that at as kid. I was shopping for a bullitt during Covid and the prices were too high so I had to order a M1. Do love those Bullitt s !!
