The mic shouldn't be a big deal, it can be routed and hidden anywhere needed - it doesn't have to be "seen". Based on some of the replies the wiring to it is sufficient for hiding anywhere forward of the driver.

The static issue - not sure what could be causing that other than the possibility a connector isn't totally secure or there is wire is pinched or possibly laying too close to another body harness wire where it's picking up feedback.

For instance - if there's RCA cabling, those should always be away and separate from any power feeds, not laying near, next to or on top of because that does create feedback issues.

Thanks for the feedback. I like the fact that this unit retained the factory AC/Heat controls and it has wireless car play.
Are you using Apple Car play or Android?
From what I have read hear, one issue was the muffled car play.

Had this installed by a local audio shop. Still trying to figure out all the setting, but got the Apple car play to work. Only issue is the sync on my phone does not automatically go to the unit for some reason. I have to switch it before the phone starts to dial. The installer came up with a different location for the microphone. I think it looks good and almost OEM.

I've had mine since May...June? Whenever they first started shipping the Pro 8. Love it other than the fact I've never been able to get the android Auto wireless to work. I gave up on it completely until this past weekend when I noticed there was an firmware update. Now I'm trying again to get it working but still can't. I've done the developer settings in Android Auto and checked the box in the dynavin settings (wasn't there prior to the update) but it just says connecting...

The one thing that drives me up the wall with the Sync3 is the nanny feature that locks out certain things when the vehicle is in motion. So, my passenger can't change an address, search USB FLAC Files, etc. I assume android auto on this unit is also the same with pause feature when scrolling through music or unable to change the address in Waze when moving?

This is tempting. My APIM is failing. Instead of replacing it with another APIM (that could fail as well?), maybe It should just install this... especially since it has wireless CarPlay!

Only downside I see is the Mustang logo animation will probably go away, right?

Installed and everything works great. No issues and boot time is fast. My only complaint is Apple CarPlay volume is low even after adjusting the source level input and “loud” selections. Probably end up doing a full amplified stereo using the rca low level inputs and EQ functions.

Not sure if anyone has commented on you yet and asked, did you make sure your phones volume was up all the way? This directly and always affects bluetooth volume even if you have whatever device that is pushing out the music at any level the phone volume also contributes to the amount of sounding coming out of a device.

I will recommend you buy system with actual buttons for basic controls. I had a tesla style screen before. It had audio issues so i tried to reset it and it removed the entire OS. I could only start and stop my car no heat or ac controls. I drove my car with hot air blowing in summer for 2 days. So i returned that unit. Also with that shift knob in the middle you have to squeeze your hand and will have lots of accidental touches.

I purchased Dynavin D8 Pro 4 months and I am fairly happy with it. I mostly use the wireless carplay nothing else. That being said Dynavin is not a perfect unit either. They use Cortex A7 processor which is 10 years old 32 bit chipset. all the latest chipset are 64 bit since 2015 or so. Just 2GB ram and Bluetooth 2.0 even though Bluetooth 5.0 came like 5 years ago. The Bluetooth range is very short as soon as you step out of car it will discontent. Running any android apps are pain with 2gb ram and that old processor.

The Tesla unit i purchased was light year ahead of Dynavin with 8GB ram and Qualcomm 665 chipset and 4G connectivity. It was super fast. Way better DSP for audio settings. Currently there is no perfect unit in market for S550 Dynavin is the closest you can get. Their customer service is great they reply to emails same day and have firmware updates every month. I hope Dynavin will have better unit with newer specs

Just copy any 16x9 aspect ratio files to usb and connect it the media port not one in front of unit as that is only for charging. Then go to files open the image it will have option to make as boot logo.

We just purchased our son a 2017 V6 with the dreaded 4" calculator stereo. In looking into audio enhancement options (including the Dynavin) I came across a Forscan setting that can be adjusted to disable the factory EQ - allowing for better sound quality at higher volumes than with it on. If you went with the Dynavin and upgraded speakers, this is a nearly free mod. I am assuming that replacing the head unit won't change the factory EQ settings and make this a moot point - maybe something to look into. I'm holding off on the Dynavin until he makes it through year 1 without damaging the car.
I've been searching for that forscan setting. Can you tell me what it is?

Hi guys, I am currently looking at the Dynavin to replace the base 4" screen in my wife's 2016 Ecoboost. One question I have is, does it require any programming (either with Forscan or at a stealership) ?
Thanks in advance, Mark
