The mic shouldn't be a big deal, it can be routed and hidden anywhere needed - it doesn't have to be "seen". Based on some of the replies the wiring to it is sufficient for hiding anywhere forward of the driver.
The static issue - not sure what could be causing that other than the possibility a connector isn't totally secure or there is wire is pinched or possibly laying too close to another body harness wire where it's picking up feedback.
For instance - if there's RCA cabling, those should always be away and separate from any power feeds, not laying near, next to or on top of because that does create feedback issues.
