Hans Device Anchors

Hi folks,

What type of Hans Quick Click Anchors do you recommend for a SA2020 Helmet with the drilled holes (for Hans device anchors) https://soloperformance.com/products/racequip-pro20-snell-sa-2020-full-face-helmet-white?

My understanding is that with a helmet with drilled holes, you don't need the version with the anchor plates https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hpp-ak1142-2

However, when I inquired about the version w/o anchor plates https://www.hansdevice.com/products...nchors/hans_quick_click_anchors/parts/AK11412, I was told they don't come with any hardware. Now I am wondering how these would attach to the helmet? Do they directly screw into the helmet? At least the version with the anchor plates comes with screws so I could leave off the anchor plates and use the supplied screws to attach the anchors.

I'm a little confused. Thank you for your help!

If your neck restraint has this type of helmet attachments then buy a set of these from a place like Pegasus or Summit racing. Your helmet should already have the attaching points installed

Most HANS devices come with the Hans Anchors. Atleast the Schroth FLEX does. You need to match it the the device, so get the one for what ever device you have. Any helmet SA2015+ will already have the hardware in the helmet to mount the clip studs to.

Nut washers for old helmets are not really being supported any longer because most groups require a 2015+ helmet.

The SAH2010 helmets had the pre-drilled holes which required the backing plates. Those helmets expired in 2021-2022.

What Hans device to you have? You should only need these. But it depends if it's an original style device or a Hybrid.

Zamp sells Snell 2020 helmets and Hans devices with compatible anchors.

My helmet came with pre-threaded holes and then my HANS came with all the necessary hardware and instructions to install. I would think most HANS would come like this.

I would go ahead and order the anchors without nuts. I can't remember off the top of my head but I believe my helmet (same as you have) came with screws already installed in the hans attachment point holes. If not, you need a small 6mm allen head bolt.
