Hey, what going on everyone! I have a couple of questions...first, Does the aftermarket large CAIs actually help with HPs or would having a drop in better flowing air filter with opening the grill up a bit to allow more flow do the same thing? (Are the aftermarkets a lot of show?)

Second, has anyone set their car up more for handling curves on road tracks/mountain roads with negative camber? And did it help?

I have included a link of my first trip to the mountains as well, the car handled well..tires were worm and the roads were dry and I had a blast!

Thanks!

if you're on Pzero's i'd consider a change to conti DWS.
the stock alignment specs are fine.

the biggest problem is IRS instability, get that thing locked down and it'll change things significantly.

These cars can handle. Tires make a huge difference. Probably the best mod you can do next to driver mod.

And yes, if you’re looking to get better handling dynamics and wear out of your tires, camber is a must.

Hwy 60 west of Dahlonega in the Suches area?

Thanks for posting the video. I live in the area and these are my haunts. Pure joy is the only way to describe it!

I have a Steeda CAI with open air box sealed against the hood with a large inlet facing the grille. I live in the country so stop and go idling isn’t much of an issue. Usually my IT is only 6 to 10 above ambient. I like the looks of it and I did experience a noticeable seat of pants power gain after I installed it with the associated tune. Some say it’s mostly the tune. I don’t know but I’m happy with it.

Thanks for the info! I'll look into that CAI as well...I'm still in the "what do I want to do" stage so any and all info is welcomed!

I have the PMAS cai. I run 2-3 degrees warmer than ait when driving. On e85 the hp difference was about 12 hp adding the pmas. Perks of having access to a dyno and a tuner for a friend. lol.

CAIs are mostly show, they do little for noticeable power gains. With a tune for sure, but alone not much of anything, other than a cool sound of sucking air.

The Steeda catalog, BMR catalog, and Ford Performance catalog all have great handling upgrades. I have most of what Steeda makes on my car and love it. I also have the Ford Performance Track suspension kit, which is shocks and struts, springs and sway bars. I don’t have anything from BMR but a ton of guys here do and speak highly of them.

The difference from stock to my current setup is INSANE, it’s a different car.

Nittos, dear #¥€%ing God.

Grip is literally 2/3rds tire selection. Doesnt even matter that all that much how wide they are, and those 555G2s are terrible. You cant fix handling if your only contact with the ground are those ice skates. There are 20 better options.

Camber, yes it helps. Get plates for the front and the rear is already adjustable, but flip those Nittos to some dodge or chevy sucker and get some decent tires.

Optimize for a great tire, and that means front AND rear tires. Pick the model and size tire you want to run before you fixate on a wheel size.
