I just bought half shafts and I want to know if anyone has a video or a something on like a DYI. I cant remember if a vendor posted a video a while back or not. I just tried going through some pages but I cant find anything. im pretty sure it was BMR who said the install wasn't too bad though which im kind of happy about.

the install is fairly simple, the splines on the DSS shaft slides right on the hub, the FRPP splines are a very tight fit, be patient if you have those. besides that make 100% sure the axle seats all the way in the diff. everything else is pretty easy.

What if anything are you guys putting on the splines as far as lubrication? I'm a tech at a Benz dealer and we have this uber-lube from Castrol that looks like anti-sieze that was originally used for metal to metal noises in various driveline components.

I'm also interested in the right lube for the axle splines.

also, does anyone know what size that big axle nut is?

I emailed DSS about lube for the splines.

"white lithium or anti-size would be fine "

an important torque value for this install:

The big axle nut, OEM calls out for 98ftlbs + 45 degrees.....
That ends up coming out to like 230~ish.
