Having seen it in person, Guard did NOT look like black. It is a darker color but no where near the depth of black. It changed between a dark green hue and greyish hue, depending on the lighting.

I have a black Mustang and a grey Mustang. Guard is uniquely different than black.

I'm glad you replied as I saw your pictures you posted. If you look at the picture I just posted is it greatly different from what you saw in person? Just trying to get away from dark colors for upkeep reasons. Guess I'm just getting wedding jitters.

I was a skeptic about the S550, and I have been a Mustang fanatic most of my 18 years. Hell I even love the Mustang II's, but with Ford making the new Mustang more of a "global" design I was worried they would be taking away the American muscle essence of it. One night while out to eat I glanced over a nascar race on the TV, I got really because I saw what I thought was a 2015 Mustang pace car. But much to my surprise it was actually a brightly painted Fusion. I was worried about the direction the S550 was taking. Then the build a price came out on the website and I played around with it, the car I built and wish I was ordering was a fastback in the color Gaurd with the Ecoboost engine, manual transmission and performance package. So when I heard of this 2015 preproduction model that is pretty close to what I want being at my local Ford dealer I rushed down there to take a look at it. I was in aww when I first saw it, the body lines are gorgeous and they really look great in person. I would describe this car as one of those where you see pictures and you think ehh its kinda cool but then when you see it in person you are amazed at how it looks. The color Gaurd is my favorite because it really highlights in its own way the body lines. I would compare it to a Bullitt green almost and I seriously think pictures do not do it justice. If anyone is familiar with the Hyundai Genesis Coupe I would compare it to Catalunya Copper color you can get. My girlfriends mom has one in this color and it has a lot of skeptics from seeing it in pictures but once you see it in person you think wow what an amazing color. Anyway my point is don't judge this car and color until you've seen them with your own two eyes, trust me I know. My second point is someone please buy me an Ecoboost fastback in Gaurd!

The picture you posted looks like it has been digitally altered. What is in your photo does not look like what I saw in person. My photos were on the darker side because it was overcast outside when I took them.

The metallic flake appearance and the green and grey tints really look nice together. As far as upkeep goes, I imagine this car's color to be a bit easier than black. My black car definitely shows things in brighter light that are less than perfect. I believe that is because it is a straight black color that is glossy and doesn't have metal flake in it.

In my opinion, if what you have seen of Guard in the photos originally attracted you to it, you probably will like it very much in person. Behind Magnetic and Race Red, this is my next favorite color.

That there is my dilemma. I ordered the car in guard. I won't get to see one until my order comes in and if it isn't all I hoped for it'll be too late to change.

The only colors I considered were guard, ruby red, silver or magnetic.

Guard is what I ordered.

Ruby red is ruled out because I am getting a 15' F150 in ruby red

Silver I like but to me hides the body lines too much and it is used on every car in the world and is over saturated around my part. (Please, no offense to people who have selected silver)

Which leaves me magnetic as the only color I would consider changing to. My entire family wants me to stay with guard.......

Go find yourself a Guard Fusion sitting in a dealership right now and see if it's really what you want. I unfortunately didn't have enough time before I left to look at one :frusty: as I am still sorta considering guard but will more likely get magnetic, as I know I like that color and it doesn't have any mismatching bumper trim

I looked at my local dealerships but nobody had one. Soooo, I switched to Magnetic. Ultimately I realized I have never wanted a green car so I switched. Originally the color I saw had a cool green hue. But when you look a this color you mind says it green. Beautiful color enjoy guys.

Brandon Ford is getting the orange Eco-boost this month for training. They are gonna let me know when it comes in so I can come see it.
Who told you that? I spoke with someone there and they said nothing

WOW! Considering that the S-550 is Closer Look how Low it is compared to that SN-95. I'm also Loving that Tapered Greenhouse and Rear Window. This was something J. Mays wanted for the 2005 Mustang (hence the U shape in the Glass Graphic on the 2005-14's) but the Bean Counters wouldnt Approve a Seperate Decklid Design for the Convertible. Thank God they did this time around. It Looks Fantastic!

Plenty of tumblehome to bring it inline with modern design trends. ^

I'm not just talking about the Taper of the Greenhouse from Bottom to Top, Opolock, (which is called Tumblehome) I'm talking about the Teardrop shaped Taper of the Greenhouse in Plan View (from Front to Back) in conjunction with the Tapering of the Rear Window from Top to Bottom. By comparison it is the Exact Oposite of the SN-95 which had a Rear Window that was Wider at it's base. The S-197's Rear Window on the other hand is Almost Parallel, being equal width Top and Bottom.

I misread your comment, my bad. Initially thought you were referring to the added tumblehome thanks to the C-pillars tapering inward toward the rear deck.

Edit: I do have to say, it's good to see someone that pays close attention to car design. :)
