Ok guys, after 3 failed attempts at driving a distance to look at guard mustangs I actually found one online that a local dealer can get at truecar pricing. Its about 37k (auto prem 400a with nav and 3.55). Its pretty much break-even price on my trade. So what do you think, decent enough deal? I could get an orange one just a tad less or order a 17 in another color for about the same price minus the 0% interest of course. It was my favorite color and when I saw one in the evening I wasn't so sure. But looking at them closely again yesterday (ruby red, race red, orange and guard), I really do like the color in the sunlight. Btw, the only option it doesn't have I thought I wanted was the ceramic interior, but probably won't be able to find one of those now and I hear they are not as easy to keep clean as the black.

I'm definitely biased, but go for the guard! I've gotten more compliments on the color of the car, from a greater variety of people, than I ever did before with any other color. The best is, "Is that... green, or gray, or black?" as you pull in and they catch a few different angles. :D

Also, I see a ton of CO on the roads around here, but I've only seen 1 other guard 'stang on the road, ever, and that was an EB. As far as I've been able to see, I'm the only one with a guard GT in my county. It's almost as rare as a 6th gen Camaro!

I cant even tell you how much this happens to me. Good luck and do what feels right for you.

One of the reasons I was reconsidering the color is it isn't too much different than my gray, but then again I still get compliments on it. I wanted to try something like orange since I never had one that shade, but someone at work asked do you think you will still like it in a couple years? I thought about it and they may have a point and it may attract unwanted attention if you know what I mean out on the highway much like red or yellow.

It looks like magnetic when it's overcast or raining or under white/led light. All the other times it just looks better ;) . Guards get extra paint because of the flake and it needs depth to do what it does. The extra flake is why it was discontinued because it wasn't exactly popular and it was more costly. It will just make it more rare imo. Vs some of the other colors you mentioned .. I try and avoid flat colors. Can get boring and if you like to detail metallics are extra awesome. Also dark colors hide the panels gaps better and as we all know the s550 has its fair share of misalignment. To me guard just screams class and maturity. I went for an Aston look and I get endless compliments from older people that's for sure.

One interesting thing to note is it looks gold-ish in sunlight with the heavy flake. If you ever edit guard.. Turn up the yellow slider.. Not much happens. Turn up the green slider.. Not much happens. change the blue slider and watch the color go wild ! I think if they named the color 'guard' it would've been more successful. The word 'green' just steers a lot of people away.

Well you guys (and the pics) finally convinced me to go with the guard. I put down a deposit on a 16 premium automatic gt with 3.55 gears, foundry wheels and nav. Will pick it up Friday if all goes as scheduled. It had all the options I wanted except the ceramic interior, but I wasn't completely sold on the white anyway. It was the last one in that color with the options I wanted in the area.

Nice, congrats!

Ceramic int might not fare well if you wear dark jeans anyways. The dye rubs off and stains your seats...Although it looks really classy (when not stained).

Congrats. I've got the same 401A in manual, black interior. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds exactly like mine (aside from the transmission). It looks so good on the 20" foundry wheels that I haven't even considered replacing them. Congrats on the car!
