I’m getting these wheels machined to work on the mustang platform. Theyre 20” forged wheels and I got the set for $700.

Got the rears from the silver set swapped for an additional pair of matching fronts (that had been plasti dipped). Have all 4 of those 9.5" offset 45 20's at a machine shop now to get the center bore opened to the Ford specs. Next I'll be scoring some tall tires to run these for a few weeks and see how I like them before sending 2 to Weldcraft to widen to 11.25" to run with spacers.

Nice looking wheels, but all that money and work seems a bit much when there are so many different wheels options out there.

But kudos to having something "different"

Yeah. I was thinking a set of forged 20's was still $4k+ but there is a company out there selling sets for $2,600 now. But I honestly kind of like making something out of these old OEM wheels.

What’s a reasonable amount of time to give a machine shop to open the centerbore on a set of wheels? They’ve been there a week now and still haven’t been worked on.

I ordered some spacers that arrived in a heartbeat. Picked up tires, basically completed every other aspect of the project and the wait is starting to bug me.

What's a reasonable amount of time to for a shop to begin working on your project? That depends on what they told you ahead of time and how busy they are with other work. There's a guy local to me who fixes bent wheels for cheap, but only does them in batches once or twice a year, so you could be waiting 6mo or so if you drop off the wheels at some random time. He's very upfront about it, so its no big deal.

Did you discuss a timeframe with the shop for the project ahead of time? I'd give them a week and if they don't start the work in a week, then I might shop around for another place to do the work.

In terms of machining.. You can bore out 4 wheels in about a couple hours of work on a CNC machine.
Depends on how busy they are, your wheels might just be a fill in job.

I got them on and dig them. The 275/40/20 were 1/32nd too tall and the spring perch just barely touches it.
