If you read the warranty information that comes with the car, pads have a 12 month 12k mile warranty. They are not 3yr/36k.

They squeal due to them dusting so heavily. They dust because the compound of the pad is designed to actually stop. Had they used ceramics you'd be complaining about the ceramic noise and torn up rotors (like what happens to most BMW's) and not about the brake dust and squeal.

It's not Ford's job to tell you to actually rear what your warranties are when you sign the paperwork. Plus it's a wear item. It's a tough sell to Ford when for all they know you ride the brakes like a grandma.

You guys should really check out the Power Stop pads. My wheels are polished and they stay clean for weeks. Those stock pads were the worst. I've done many big brake kits on cars and have never had a pad that dirty that wasn't solely for track use. I was seriously cleaning my wheels daily. With Sonax. Ain't nobody got time for that.

No problem. You'll like these pads much better. I try to recommend them to anyone that has issues with the OEM pads.

There is a pretty large existing thread on this topic.

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1421330#post1421330

I will also mention my last post there.

My roommate is a Brake Component release engineer for an OEM. They have similar issues and use the same supplies for the regular Mustang brakes.
After picking him up from dropping his car off for body work, my car (PP) made a few real good screeches. He said that's probably 240 hz noise.

In his experience it seemed to stem from friction material, braking force, and moisture often brings out more frequent excitement into the system. I tried to replicate it on the drive home, but could not given the nature of traffic. So once home, threw two cups of water on the calipers, let the car sit for about 30 minutes in the sun.

Then we did some city driving for about 5-10 minutes then brought the car into a low traffic housing development for low G, low brake effort stops. We used sound analyzer from the android market place to record the sound. Sure enough the car would screech and do it consistently. 234hz 60db was the noise the PP Brembo's would make.

He said moisture levels often bring out these nature frequency with low G/low effort braking when energy is transferred from rotor to pad and excite the brake system.

Shims, and grease are an easy way to try an elevate the issue, to dampen that transfer into the caliper. Unless there is material/coating changes which are less prone to bring out the nature frequency of some parts. The noise really won't just go away, and there really is nothing wrong with the system.

7500 miles 2016 PP, no brake noises...

Some squeaks or moans are normal especially when it's just wet and parked. Upon first drive some noise will be made when backing out of the driveway or whatnot.

That's just normal.

I am well within the warranty.

My breaks moan daily. Every-time I try to smoothly come to a stop, everyday...they moan.

Everyone that has been in the car with the noise freaks out. This is not a mild annoying squeak, it a resonance that will shake your teeth loose.

Add this to the latest poll..... http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65574

Man, am I glad I don't have any of the normal issues some people are having. My body panel fitment is fine, my seats cool, my brakes don't squeak, and I sure don't notice any driveline vibration.

These brakes arent meant to be lightly driven on. Go out and do a few hard thresh hold braking (few as in 3 not 1 and hard as in from 60-0 not 25-0. And I mean HARD like fly-through-the-windshield-hard) and see if that doesnt help. Everytime mine start squeaking/squealing I do that and problem solved. Or go get different pads (which isnt a bad option because these pads are far from perfect).

That was the first thing I tried. I set record breaking deceleration and still nada.

Which powerstop pads did you go with?
